I have a "what the heck" attitude toward Clinton's acquittal, in and of itself. It didn't hurt me any that he's a sexual predator.

Keep in mind..it's not as if nobody was investigating Bill Clinton for years. and years. And...umm..years.

And all poor Kenny had to show for it was:

"Ummm...well...he lied when asked if he cheated on his wife. Sexually."

MURDER!!!!!

Yeah...I'm being a bit of a dick about it. But...this deserves such treatment.

You see, I was doing my slappy/forestool impersonation. If they can say Bush lied without facts to back it up, I can say the Clintons killed Foster.

She was an intern.. he was the POTUS.. yeah, I'd say that was a LITTLE abuse of power and would suffice under Sexual Predation.. Kind of has the nasty smell to it like the "casting couch". How would your job like it if you had a Jr Intern working for you giving you blow jobs in your office? My job, I'd be out the door so fast my head would still be spinning as the gates slammed shut behind me.. and it wouldn't have to be an intern.. ANY subordinate.

It may have been funny if some of the other "righties" didn't
blow their fuzes lately.

While I get your point...acting as :dork: as the others will probably earn you the same "respect".

Dude...
You're trying to equate "sexual predation" with a willing, over 21 year old that had a power-lust thing for him.

Do you ever wonder why I don't respond to the majority of your posts?

Doesn't matter if she was willing, or even seducing him.. he was her BOSS...

ANYONE working for the gov't (recently an admiral was fired for the same) having relations with a subordinate gets shown the door.

"But she made me stick my dick in her mouth" is NOT a defense..

And I always rightfully assumed that you felt unarmed in a battle of wits..

Apparently you weren't paying attention. Monica Lewinsky was just one of the many.

Try and keep up, will ya? It's only 10 years old.

Hypocrisy abounds on all sides of Libby case

CNN said:
The hypocrisy is unpardonable. President Bush's decision to commute the sentence of a convicted liar brought out the worst in both parties.
In keeping I. Lewis "Scooter" Libby out of jail, Bush defied his promise to hold wrongdoers accountable and undercut his 2000 campaign pledge to "restore honor and dignity" to the White House. And it might be a cynical first step toward issuing a full pardon at the conclusion of his term.

Democrats responded as if they don't live in glass houses, decrying corruption, favoritism and a lack of justice.

I do not understand why it is suddenly wrong for a President to make a pardon or commute a sentence. Nobody #####ed when Clinton pardoned those FALN terrorists.

I also do not understand why the Democrats have such a vindictiveness toward Scooter Libby, although I suspect it's simply because he was Dick Cheney's guy. Couldn't get Cheney, get his second banana instead.

And now it's suddenly horrifying that Libby was *one* of Marc Rich's lawyers (because certainly you're aware that rich people like that usually have a whole string of them).

Someone explain to me *exactly* what Scooter Libby did wrong and why he deserves all this vitriol? And, Forestal, don't say "treason" because he wasn't convicted of, or even charged with, treason.

When all is said and done, all they could come up with was Libby lying about whether he heard about Plame's name from a journalist or from Cheney. Not that Libby exposed Plame's identity; not that he knew who exposed Plame's identity; not that he even knew who Plame really was at the time he heard her name. Just that he "lied" about who he heard ner name from.

This is all the prosecuters and investigators could come up with.

He lied to a Federal Grand Jury.

He lied to Federal Prosecutors.

Everything else is irrelevant.

He lied. He got caught.

Are we talking about Clinton or Libby?

If he had a (D) near his name, we know the outrage you'd have, we've seen it posted. By belittling Libbys violation, you put politics before the Law.

You just don’t see it do you? You don’t see the power that the Clinton’s wield in this country. How you can have someone (Sandy Burger) blatantly steal Top Secret documents and illegally destroy them, in an obvious effort to cover up something Clinton did (or didn’t do) related to the 911 attacks, and still be walking our streets a free man? Yet, a guy lies about an event that has yet to produce any facts that it happened and he goes to jail for 2 years? We’ll never know the truth, will we; because the evidence has been destroyed? Can you truly explain this one away? Given this, I think some of us folks (that are going ) have a right to be outraged at the Libby fiasco and glad to see he will be able to be with his family just like Sandy Burger.

But bringing up Clinton when Libby did the same thing, and justifying one (Libby) while condemning the other (Clinton) is hypocrisy.

I'm just as likely to turn it around for those who gripe about Libby's commuted sentence.

They both more or less did the same thing and got away with it; Libby, by having his sentence commuted - Clinton for being "acquitted" by the votes of his Senate colleagues who wouldn't have voted him guilty if the whole affair had been on worldwide broadcast.

For EITHER side to point the finger, I just find amusing.

Yeah, and he had his sentence commuted by the President, as is that President's right.

If he were a dangerous criminal, I could see the outrage. I mean, it's not like Libby was, say, setting off bombs that killed several people and maimed many more. :coffee:
