Seafood Places

I got the fried platter at Clarkes... not very good.

No local seafood... nasty shrimp, and COD fillets. They could have at least fried up some striper. I would have settled for croaker.

That is pretty typical of anywhere I'd say. People in general like to defend the place they are from. It is the reason most people like their hometown team.

I kind of see your point, but not really. I have been stationed in many different towns and it isn't like this. Keep in mind, a lot of towns are not exactly fond of people that are not originally from there (the Military) so yes, you do have some people that just don't want you there. But that is the small portion of the community. Usually people understand and just agree to disagree. Not here....

For instance, I got a lot of red karma after I posted that. Couple people telling me to leave, shut up, or F-off. Of course, nobody signed it.

I guess I am just used to people helping to come up with a solution. After all, I like it here. I really do.

You're absolutely right. I wasn't going to respond to the poster who suggested that it was time for a move over my disappointment with some of the local seafood places. Your point however is well made and I appreciate it. I do like the area, but yes I am disappointed with much of the local seafood (I do love the Maryland Blue Crab).... Reason to move? Doubtful! I categorize responses such as that one as ignorant and not worth arguing over. I also serve in the military and have had the pleasure of living all over the country and the world and I find that most people in the places I've lived have been hospitable. Southern Maryland for the most part is no different. I won't apologize for offending a few of the locals with my opinion, and I certainly won't be moving over something as silly as the quality of local seafood in the area.

You're right. You always hear on here though. SOMD has the worst drivers, people are rude, there are too many redneck locals. Guess what, there is some of that no matter where you go in this country. I've got complaints about this area too, but you know what I seen alot of places a hell of alot worse so I just deal with it most of the time without #####in too much.

I like Lenny's, it's an older restaurant but has great food. Their Seafood platters, Stuffed flounder and Jambalaya are great.
