How come sophie is STILL not adopted? I went by there today and saw here in her crate. She looked sad to be sitting there while all the other dogs were out..

I tried to adopt her actually. Either her or Max a few months ago. I was told no because I live in a town house and she "crys" while in her crate...

THAT is my whole thing with some rescue groups. There are TONS of dogs that need homes, but good homes are being rejected for stupid reasons.

Seriously one place in calvert told us no because we wernt 21.. I am 20 and OWN my own townhouse. not rent, or live with parents OWN. I just wanted a dog to help fill the void that I lost when I had to put my boxer down.

Cannan Has been up for adoption for a long time, he should have had a home a long time ago. Same with sophie.

Alex is the most adorable puppy!

As Alex's first foster momma, I can vouch for his fantastic little personality! He's very loving and cuddly and also VERY smart. In a matter of a few hours he was listening to everything and even going to the door to go out.

If there was any way I could keep two, he's have been the one! Oh, and WHAT A FACE!!!!

How would you handle the situation when your neighbors complained about her when she was in a crate and you weren't home?

Our current dog that we adopted had a problem with whinning while we left for work. No one complained. It only lasted about a day or two. We trained him not to whine and he learned. Dogs are not stupid animals very smart.

Our neighbor has two dogs that whine all the time. you can faintly hear them through the walls. No complaints.

And guess what? Most people that i live around atleast in the two houses connected to mine work during the day. My one neighbor has a new born baby and I have never once heard the baby cry.

You are right Remax, Alex is such a smart boy. He was a favorite at the Petco event. He is also really good with my two children.

Because we had an intact male and we were interested in a small spayed female or a neutered male. We did not lie and say we showed him so we were turned down also. Sometimes things work out for the best , my daughter was able to rescue a small bichon from the shelter who has now recovered from the trauma of being left at a shelter and become a great little dog, great companion for her Maltese & spoiled member of the family. The shelter has many dogs who also need homes & their time to find one is very short, give them a try.
I don't blame the rescues at all, they have their rules just like everything else.

I'm so glad he is in a home right now where there are kids to play with. In just the short time I had him he was really coming into his own. Oliver was "showing" him how to relax and just play. What a treat that was for me!

These rescue groups are built on a foundation of some of the most caring and dedicated people I have ever met. They want to place dogs in the right environment where they will STAY and grow with their owners. They put in crazy amounts of their time and energy to keep them safe, warm, healthy, fed and LOVED until that furever home is found. If you could see what they do personally, you would have the great respect I have for them. Thanks to all of you!!!

Oh I agree about the rescues, I would not be able to do what they do. It would be too hard for me to love them and then hope I could find them a home that would treat them with the respect and love that they deserve.
I just don't understand why some get so upset that they do not qualify for some reason or another. There are so many dogs & cats that need a home that it shouldn't matter where you adopt them from

:howdy: Hey Navigator, Remax, and Millertc, thanks to you all for the updates and new pic of Alex. I have passed them along to the "Guardian Angel" that found him. She's out of town, but I'm sure she will love to see the new pic and read about how he is doing. Though I hope he finds a forever home soon, it's good to see that he has so many caring people watching over him!!!
