One bet at a time. Actually, I'm waiting for my hand to heal. I haven't lifted a dart in over a month. I was lifting and moving some equipment, and felt something in my hand give. It's slowly getting better, but still hurts. If it's not better soon, I'm going to have to go see a doctor to figure out what's wrong. :ohwell:

awww... It sounds like you pulled a tendon or ligiment or something... I hope it is getting better. Do you have it splited up to heal or anything so you don't reinjure it while its still weak

Hope you feel better from it soon.

I have a big knot/lump in the middle of my hand, so I don't know what it is. I'm just resting it and hoping it goes away, but knowing my luck, I really screwed something up in there. :bawl:

I think you pulled something... kind of like a rubberband that snapped inside your hand or something... I'd get it looked at... sometimes you don't want things to heal the wrong way -- I knew a person that broke their little toe and then it healed (the wrong way) and it was painful because a nerve was involved... they ended up having to re-break the toe. :frown: Also by not using your hand as much you are probably putting more stress on your wrist or forearm to compensate and that might get sore from overuse

Jazz, sounds like a tendon may have snapped (hard as it is to diagnose over the internet with the limited description). It's not something to let lay around for a few days. Get in to see your doctor as soon as you can. He may need to splint it or it might (just a teenie weenie risk) need surgery.

Gosh, I do hope it's not that. I do know that the middle two fingers feel like something is pulling and it hurts if I press on the area with the lump. I also feel it when I lift something, like a gallon of milk.

Of course, it's been a couple of weeks since it happened so I'd best stop procrastinating about seeing a doctor.

It's a ganglion cyst. :twitch:

A ganglion cyst is a small, fluid-filled sac which commonly develops in the hand or the wrist. These cysts are similar to small water balloons, except that the fluid inside the cyst is thick and gelatinous, and very similar to honey in its consistency. Ganglion cysts are typically found near joints and tendons, especially the wrists and fingers. When a ganglion cyst occurs next to a fingernail, it is called a mucous cyst.

It will hopefully go away on its own. If not, they will try to drain it. I am NOT going to try the old method of bursting the cyst by smashing it with a heavy book, most notably a bible. :barf:

Hey! I have a ganglion cyst too. Aren't they just the conversation starter? "Hey, is that a tumor or what?" or "Oh my god! What is that thing?".
I got mine from a terrible violent ending to a terrible violent golf swing. Swing hard, hit root of tree. (Note to self: Keep it in the short grass) Anyway, I have had mine drained once and it returned about 10 days later. Mine isn't that big of a deal since it doesn't affect any function of my hand.

Mine's not that big. You can't really see it unless I flip my hand down in the "ghey" manner.

It doesn't hurt that much, unless I do certain things like lift heavy objects. I think it's gone down some - leastwise, I hope so. I really don't want to do the 'drain' thingy. :twitch:
