See, here's the thing about Pride month:

I thought it was amusing that during the pandemic, a handful of journalists went about America's heartland - "flyover" country - and found - you know what - everything I've heard and read is wrong, and these people are kinder and more fun than my friends in the city, who commiserate all day long.
Ya notice how those journalists were immediately cancelled??

To borrow a phrase from the Democrats - if the ONLY news you ever, ever saw - and the only stuff you ever heard from friends - was just the Democrat talking points and propaganda - you'd be one too. I'm simply astonished at the bullchit I hear coming from the mouths of people whose minds and lives I otherwise respect - but when it comes to politics, they never stray from the left-wing narrative and clearly have NO IDEA what right wing is, having only heard demonized versions of them from their environment.

And yet when you suggest they might look at another viewpoint their heads spin and they puke pea soup. Act like they've been hit with Holy water. "ARRRRGGGHHH! I don't want to listen to Nazis!!! RAAAAARRRRHHHHHH!"

Then they call us intolerant. :jet:

It's perplexing that they dont' really hear themselves.

Yup.

During the last few election cycles - a guy named Brandon Straka began a campaign which I thought would gain a lot of traction - and that was to tell former Democrats, like himself - that the Democrats weren't doing anything for him. And that's why he was going to "walk away". He was NOT espousing the Republican Party - he was just making the very good case that Democrats just use people like him - a gay man - as a useful idiot whose vote they could depend on - but never ever delivered on. Similar videos went up with other members - and I followed it.

I've always been conservative, but up until that time, I was a registered Democrat. My original reasoning was that a conservative Democrat was more likely to make real change in this country than a more liberal Republican. But they JUST KEEP GOING further left, and I'd had enough.

He's been effectively silenced and his movement is all but dead. Granted, he was present Jan 6 even though he didn't go into the Capitol, but that was enough. He's been cancelled.

I don't care. Very few people care. It's like National Rutabaga Day - who cares? Let them have their parades and bumper stickers, how does that hurt you?

And this:

There are areas where it makes sense for Target et al to sell tranny clothes because they have a trans population to support it. If my city had a ton of trannies around I wouldn't think twice about Target selling weinerkinis. My city *does* have a decent size gay population and there will probably be something for Pride month that I may or may not hear about. But tranny clothes will sit on the hangers and grow dust.

Read the room, corporate America. Know your audience. Step out of your Democrat hivemind and stop pandering in deep red areas that think you're freaking lunatics.
Two things here -

(1) You are comparing a Day to a Month.

(2) You are comparing vegetables to fruits.

I've been really trying to understand this - at least - trying to grasp it from some OTHER parallel besides my experience in a cult.

I suppose if we lived in some sci-fi universe where aliens were taking over the world, disguised as humans but intent on destroying us all - I certainly would feel completely justified silencing them, committing violence against them, discrediting them even with outright lies - I would do ANYTHING to shut them up and shut them down. I would fight them when they're right, fight them when they're wrong and never, ever compromise with them - because deep down, I'd believe they were out for the doom of mankind.

That's kind of how the left views it - cheating is ok. Making chit up and lying - that's ok. ALL OF IT is ok, because it stops the EVIL that is the right.

I think I'm a fool because there's still a part of me that thinks the truth is more powerful than lies. MOSTLY because usually, the truth doesn't require ridiculous contortion of facts to keep its story straight. Occam's Razor and all that.

Parades and bumper stickers haven't hurt us - Democrats have hurt us. They use whatever tools are at their disposal to divide and destroy this country, and trannies happen to be handy. So what started out as a harmless parade & bumper sticker have now been weaponized...by Trannies, who overwhelmingly support Democrats & Democrat causes...you're helping to make my point...

Why pick on trannies? It's not picking on...It's holding them responsible. They largely vote Democrat, so.... It's not their fault half this country are mindless pedophile sociopath Democrats. And they tend to be that half of the Country that are the mindless pedophile socialist Democrat, so...

I beg to differ...it used to be very few people cared...

Then it was parades for kids to see... And I refused to speak out
Then we got RuPaul...And I refused to speak out
Then it was Ladies Night Drag Shows at the bars....And I refused to speak out
Then it was Drag Queen story hour at the Elementary Schools...And I started speaking out & was called a Homophobe & was silenced....
Then we got the likes of Lori Lightfoot, Rachel Levine, & Sam Briton in positions of power in our Gov't...but I was already silenced
Then came the Trans Athletes...and Females' voices were silenced
Then came the LGBTQIAA Satanists...who NOW have the Teacher's Unions, The Medical Profession, The Legal Profession, Corporate America, The Media, Global Governments, Etc...infiltrating & attempting to rule over every facet of our lives....

And now they are coming for our kids....this is how the Parades & Bumper Stickers have hurt us all...
True. So very true, we are a society now that is more corrupt and immoral than the Romans of the time of Commodus.

I'm a bit mystified as to how a personality factor like sexual orientation became an accomplishment in which to have "Pride."

My wife and I have very few friends we consider family. 2 of them are gents who been a couple for 43 years. They hate all this activism, just want to live their lives, and be good neighbors.
I demand difficult person pride month!

What is it they say? A lie can travel half way around the world while the truth is still putting on its shoes?

Lies are incredibly powerful when they're being peddled by people in a position of influence and power. The truth has no chance against that barrage.

Associated Press surreptitiously drops claim about 'violent confrontations' over Target Pride merch

Just the News noticed the wire service made the claims in its own voice in the headline and first paragraph of the report posted Tuesday night, rather than attributing those claims to Target, despite providing no evidence of threats or violence. The story was widely carried in other media.

Those claims had disappeared a day later without a correction or editor's note. The revised headline states Target "suffer[ed] backlash for LGBTQ+ support," while the revised opening paragraph cited "intense backlash from some customers who confronted workers and tipped over displays."

AP still provided no evidence for those claims.

Some media changed the story to the surreptitiously corrected version, though the original headline still appears widely in search results. Other outlets kept the original, including The Hill, AOL, CBS News, Yahoo Finance and Fox 9 in Target's home base of Minneapolis.

The propaganda had already done it's job.

None of those that spread the story for them will correct it either.
