Septic Pumping Prices

All the threads in the last month or 2 about septics has me tinking we should get ours pumped out. Been in the house 7 years and never had it done.

What is the cost you have paid in the last 2 years to get one pumped and who did it?

Can't remember the price off the top of my head, but I think it was around $200 by Wayne's Drains. I'll see if I can find the receipt when I get home this evening.

$200 for Pumping a Septic Tank?

The heck with that price! Just let the tank fill up like the one on the thread "Septic".

Besides if you're lucky the drains won't actually back up into the house until the solids have clogged the drain field. Then you can get a brand septic system - mound included for about $25,000.

I had my septic done on April 16th by Wayne's Drains and Septic, out of Mechanicsville. He charges $220, which include 1 foot of digging. If they have to dig deeper it's $20 a foot. Both my septic access's are 2 feet down, so it cost me $260.

We used Copsey and it was $220.00 3 months ago. We have the septic pumped every 2 years (that is our preference).

Every 3 to 4 years whether you need it or not. Believe me it's worth it. Mine plugged due to it being too full. The trunk line from the house to the tank broke also and if your field drains plug up.....you're screwed. I spent 2 days digging the trunk line out by hand because I couldn't get a backhoe in to it. Get it pumped every 3 to 4 years, it's worth the $200. Grovers is another septic guy. :yay:

Copsey's Septic (Jimmy Gates) heck he lives just around the corner on All Faith Chruch Rd. Has pumped mine in the past, nice guy. If you are not having problems at this time, wait till it dries out, all companies are proably pretty busy with all the rain of late. As far as I know he just pumps tanks and doesnt install, I'd be a little aprehensive(sp) of a company that does both they may tell you need new drain fields after pumping just to take you for ride. Ive done the new drain fields and also had to add a pumping tank several years back and I wouldnt ever call that company (in Mechcanicsville) back to even unclog a
kitchen sink drain. Saw them burn a house up one time also, when their workers were using a torch under a sink and caught insulation on fire. Sorry huntr I dont remember what it cost to pump the tank.

I used Cottons.... nice guy.... couple weeks ago... He charged $200.....

8 years ago mine backed up.... was a crushed pipe between the tank and some cement thing between the tank and the drain fields.... One of the companies told us it would be like $10,000 for them to bring in the shovel... Cottons found the crushed pipe and fixed us right up... saved us thousands of dollars....

We waited 8 years to get it pumped again... and it did fine... but you really should do it sooner and you should also use ridex...

Oh and easy on the clorox .... the little bacteria that eat the poop for you... they don't deal well with clorox....
