I was 16.

Started trying when I was 13ish.

Looking back, I wish I had got it when I was 13. Would have been 3 less desperate years for me, and I probably would have done better in school.

Is it better for kids to wait to start having sex or is it better for them to start younger? This is a generalization so, spare me 'what's too young and what's older?' There's plenty of 'adults' who have no business having sex.

If you had sex 'too young' do you wish you would have waited?

If you were over 18 when you started having sex do you wish you'd been younger?

I was 17 and fortunate enough to be in a relationship with that boy for 3 years. I don't regret it, but I certainly look back at how stupid I was and wish somebody was there to kick me in the butt once in a while and wake me up.

I can...

Whats the general opinion of a 50 year old boinking a 20 year old?

you know, just curious thats all.

...live with that. 20 is an adult. Adults are supposed to be prepared and capable of handling those kinds of choices and dealing with the consequences.

...I was 13 and it instantly jaded me and made all things school even more tedious and more 'kid' stuff. Kids are going to be adults for the rest of their lives. Be kids for awhile. Work will be there.

That...

This ^ and the poll results are saying something very profound:

Young people think they know everything, that they can "handle" it and are mature enough to make big decisions for themselves.

In retrospect, once we ARE mature, we realize that we didn't know squat and wish we hadn't done the dumb things we did.

This is why it's important for parents to protect kids and teens from their own stupid selves, and not just say "they're gonna do it anyway" or some other such nonsense.

...was the goal.

...is; "I was young and it shoulda been younger"

If 'young' is just fine, why not younger?

-No, there wasn't...they're not the same response.

-Because "young" was fine...while "younger" would have been too young.

Obviously this poll was skewed towards a particular response...but still.

I was only 13 - looking back I was too young and wish now I had waited. He was older - knew what he was doing but I still agree it was awful at that age!

Wow 13, I cant even imagine that. at 13 I was still playing 'feel me up, get to 3rd" game. I was 15years 4 mts old, and way too stupid to be doing that.

The crowd I hung out with in high school didn't have sex. At least the girls didn't. The boys who did found girls from elsewhere, not girls they would "hang out" with, not the girls they'd introduce to their mothers.

Although a few made claims of religious reasons, most of us knew that accidents could happen and going to college, establishing a career was too important to be tied down by a child.

When I went to college, I found the same types of friends.

My ultimate test was two-fold...
1. If there was a birth control failure and this guy turns tail and runs, did I have the means and maturity to raise a child.
and 2. If this guy DOESN'T bail out on accidental fatherhood, do I want to put up with him for at least 18 years?

Most guys failed the test.

Too young - should've waited.

Besides, it wasn't all that exciting anyway. Teen boys are such dorks, you have to wonder why any girl would even give them the time of day.

I only have regrets about some of the guys I gave it up to. More importantly though, I have regrets about some of the guys I didn't give it up to.

Paris was so hott!!! :hot:

Shout out to Garfield Terrace and that 11th street crew. :thewave:
