The commercial is for a Burger King kids meal, and is using Sponge Bob. The commercial is directly targeted towards kids - thus making it likely Burger King will buy advertising time for their commercials on kids stations when kids would be watching. :duh:

Dumb ass.

Hey dumb ass,

How many 5 year olds spend money?

How many 5 year olds know the song?

How many 5 year olds make decisions on where to spend disposable income?

This is a typical hook ad aimed at 2 demographics. It had Sponge Bob, recognizable to 5 year olds, and a song recognizable to 20+ year old parents. It is designed to get the kids to yell SPONGE BOB! I WANT SPONGE BOB! and to catch the ear and the wallet of parents by use of a parody of a nostalgic song that evokes fond memories of the old days partying in the clubs.

Basically it is aimed at adults with a hook for kids.

People are really upset about this? Square dancing butts are offensive? When I was 7 I thought butts and farts were the funniest thing in the world.

As much as it pained me to watch that crap I saw no mention of a kid's meal.

That's not the commercial. The commercial is only about 30 seconds long and it has a "Kids Meal" thing at the end.

I just saw that commercial like 4 minutes ago on tv.

All I know is that I'm glad this commercial is kind of overshadowing the "Gimme Back that Filet of Fish" commercial.
