Ok, here's what I'm wondering. What's the deal with high thread count sheets? Are they better? I've always bought the cheapest I could find but decided to improve my quality of life. The first set of expensive sheets I bought wore out in about 6 months. The set I bought today, 600 tc, looks like they need to be ironed when they come out of the dryer. I'll be all wrinkly when I sleep on them. I don't get it.

I have a high thread count set from Overstock. I will buy only Egyptian cotton. 3+ years of use and they just keep getting better. If I remember correctly they were on sale for $60.00.
