I was commenting on the COUNTLESS numbers of times I have heard African Americans who, while discussing race, will automatically declare "400 years of racism" or some such similar phrasing, when what they are referring to is the arrival on our shores of the first colonists, which - not accurately, I might say - coincides with the beginning of slavery. I think if you're the sort of person who habitually refers to the New World as 400 years old, you might mix it in with the Constitution even while fully aware of the date it was made law.
Historically, the first African slaves (there already were Native American slaves) arrived in the New World - in the Caribbean. They'd be there another hundred years before the English established permanent settlements elsewhere.

Great point. I have often pondered the question; How is it possible Pelosi, the most stupid person in the world, is in such a position? She is not stupid, she just sounds supid because she is single minded and driven. If Obaba gave her a Democrat branded turd burger she would eat it on national TV and smile. I’ve said this a lot on here… You don’t get elected as often as someone like Lee by being stupid. However, not knowing how old our constitution is… well, I might not use the word stupid. Perhaps she is playing to the uninformed masses. I think being that they have convinced this country that massive government and deficit/debt spending is the solution to all of our problems; well, they must be pretty smart to convince folks of this. But, they say some really stupid things. They do some really stupid things. They promote insanity – doing the same thing over and over expect different results. I’ve said it over and over that they have figured that people, in general, think in very simplistic, single-sound-bite ways. They know the general public’s language and have perfected it; unlike the GOP. Is there intelligence in this? Certainly. Do I consider them to be at the top of the gene pool? Not really.
Graduated from Yale. Law Degree from University of Virginia - one of the best law schools in the world. Probably NOT stupid, but probably highly likely to speak before thinking.
And ferociously partisan, which in my opinion, ALWAYS leads to saying stupid things.

The incumbents have the great advantage of being incumbents. They have Franking Privileges to send out news bulletins every so often telling their Constituents what a great job they are doing (costs them nothing), they have war chests of unspent campaign funds, they have the power to intervene in their Constituents favor and do their Constituents favors when they deal with Government, and they feed that pork to them. The longer they are there the more power they have to feed the pork and favors.
The longer they are there, the more corrupt they become.
Think really hard when you vote for an incumbent for when you vote for an incumbent you are not voting for change you are voting for more of the same.

If you're going to ignore it, for a living, does it really matter how well you know it? Again, my problem is the people who CLAIM to care about it. They know how old it is, who wrote it, can quote from it and THEN ignore it. That is where my problem lies. Not in the people I know don't care about it.

Pieces of paper doesn't make one smart/intelligent, there are multiple examples of people having multiple degrees but have the common sense of a house plant, the current resident of the White House is one of them.
Hell, we have examples on this site, they think they are smart then most because they have some piece of paper.
