It will be here just before he comes home.

Before he can use it I need to learn/get recommendations about parental control software.

Any recommendations so he doesn't stumble onto something nasty?

Check it out!
Looks good. I don't want him googling "cream pie" looking for a picture of a banana cream pie so he can hang it on the fridge to give me a hint, and getting something very different. :shocking:

 That sounds like a good one! I like the AMD processors better. They work better and tend to be faster then Pentium processors. I think you might notice a difference in it yourself! Enjoy!

Good thing now though is Yahoo and Google Search will automatically filter out nasty stuff unless you tell it otherwise. It seems to do quite a good job.

Ugh! HP?

Burn the restore CD's now! :elaine:

Sorry saw it's a Dell :yay:

But you had the option to request which OS when you ordered it
Yea, I could have special ordered XP. I figured since I heard the same "it sucks, it is the end of the world :jameo:" when XP, 2000, 98 and 95 all came out, and I never have had a problem that Vista probably wont be a problem for me. I am not a techie who does wild configurations and crap nor am I a Microsoft hater so I figured what the hell.

You need to burn the restore cd's for Vista.

I'm not Winders hater either, but Linux rocks. Hence UP the name.

XP Pro is the best I've seen from MS. :yay:

It seems most of the people who have problems/hate Vista are hard core computer people talking about crap I have no idea about anyway so I am sure it will work for little old me.

I wouldn't know Linux from Linus :lmao:

As far as blocking things goes, just using the Windows C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc\hosts works fairly well.

Setup restrictions under compmgmt.msc, set him as an Administrator and block applications such as AIM.exe, YAHOO.exe, and anything else you think you may need to block.

Vista haas built in parental controls come to think of it.

I should set me up as administrator and block things if any of that stuff you said made any sense to me.
