Blue is a very lucky kitty! I swear I can hear her purring!

She does have a good purr motor.

Blue has also let us know she is not happy, likely a bit frightened, too.
She has a good hiss and a very ladylike growl.

Worked from home. Managed to rearrange the storage room and then even got to sit down and watch Bird Box with my son. Had been wanting to see it.

Also whipped up some snow cream for an after dinner desert. Always good!

Shoveled the driveway with my next door neighbor's help.

About to finish getting the guest bedroom ready for a new resident.
This afternoon we are adopting an 11 - 12 year old long haired, seal point Siamese kitty.
Her name is Blue.

Some friends of my neighbor who live a couple street over are moving due to health reasons.
Unfortunately, the lady of the house has developed a cat allergy due to lowered immune system.

Will post a picture when she is settled.

She has lived with other cats, hopefully she will get used to being around Cooper and Buff.

Oooh, I can't wait to see a picture! I miss my Simon -he was a short haired seal point. I didn't know some seal points were long haired.

It's very good of you to take on the elderly cat! :huggy:

Awww. Change can be so hard for an older cat. Hopefully, she will settle in soon. :yay:

We had a 2 hour delay at work, BUT it was my first day in a new position. A promotion, at that. So I set a good example and went in an hour early instead of 2 hours late. AND, I took a little work home.

She's decided she likes the "cave" in the middle of the cat tree in the room.

I slept in there last night, we had quite a talk. She mixed meows, hisses, grumbles and growls.
She's likely mad, sad and a bit scared at being away from the only home she's known for all but a few months of her entire life.

I was in there this afternoon reading. She was back in her cave, greeted with with one subdued mew.

I didn’t babysit on the snow day! :snooze: Much needed respite, but my grands are adorable, and I am so blessed to spend most days with them; not to mention my dot and son. Life is good.

While I was cooking supper, Anita let Blue out of the "nursery" to explore as Cooper and Buff were downstairs.

I installed a screen door that can be used to keep kitties in the area of 3 bedrooms and 2 baths on the second floor. The rest of it is the 4th bedroom, open area of the 2 story foyer, hall, landing and stairwell. Anita shut that.

Kitty had a good wander, found the other litter boxes, and the boy cats' feeding station.

I got a good chuckle, Anita said Blue hissed at their kibble.

Seems she is adapting, have had her about 54 hours so far.

 I can identify with the cordoning off thing. Our temp cat, Lucky, is not so enamored with a one and three year old (grandkids). He hisses and growls, and runs to the basement for cover. We are all adjusting. Life is change. The children want to hug the kitty, but the kitty says no. But, still, Lucky is very lucky (he was found in a Giant loading dock when a very young kitten). Blue is lucky, too.

This is is what I have, always, believed all my life (having pets from the time I can remember as a young child). We love our pets, but they die before we do, so I think of it as new pets have the spirit of our beloved pets that are gone within in them, and carry on. Just wanted to say that. We never forget.

We were not quite ready, but when I heard about Blue last Friday, and that her people were about to surrender her to the county animal shelter...no way I could say no after meeting her and spending over an hour speaking with her previous people. Lady of the house appeared to be holding back tears as we collected Blue and her little bit of possessions on Monday.

She decided that instead of hissing at the boys' kibble, she likes and eats it.

She also decided she likes catnip, contrary to what her previous people thought.

Everything happens for a reason. Blue is very fortunate that y’all took her in. I am sure Miss T approves. And, what cat doesn’t like catnip?

This is Miss April Dancer (April 1986 - October 1992) of fond memory.
She actually preffered horehound to catnip.

Yes, she died at 6 1/2, succumbed to anaphylactic shock from a sedative at the vet during a routine procedure.
