I come around the beltway but I take the way you described.

Gotta hint for ya. Skip Dowerhouse and go on up the 1 mile to Woodyard then cut back across to Frank Tippet. I learned it's faster when I was following a slowpoke (in a vette no less) down 4. I took Dowerhouse & he went straight. Well I'm at the stop sign at Dower & Woodyard when guess who comes putt putting by? Yep, ole slowpoke. :lmao: So I always skip Dowerhouse now.

Sorry Bro...Gotta smack ya fown for this one.. :smack: As you well know I commuted up there for many, many years....One of the major rules of commuting (and you broke it) is that you NEVER tell anyone about a short cut that you found....NEVER....It will have the "snowball" effect....You tell one and they tell 2 and they tell 3 and so on....Then you don't have a short cut any more...There are more people on the damn short cut than are on the original way...Get it? Please don't let this happen again...That is all...

Got this message this morning....

Dear Southern Maryland commuters,

Based on low usage, the 905 diversion to the Branch Avenue Metro Station will be discontinued. Effective Monday, July 30, all trips on the
905 will revert to their regular routes and will NOT stop at Suitland.

At this time, the diversions on the 902 and 913 will remain in place.
However, we are continuously monitoring the ridership on all of these routes, and we may make additional modifications in the near future.

We regret any inconvenience these changes may have caused, and we appreciate your patience during this bridge-closure period.

Ya know, I really thought I was going to be screwed with my established route having increased traffic, but so far so good...even with it being listed as an alternate way into DC. I so happy. Instead my sucky commute multiplied, I just have my regular old yucky commute.

I was so glad when I got that email today. I'm tired of going to Branch in the afternoon and picking up nobody.

FYI - If you happen to commute via Central Ave.

WASHINGTON - The Central Avenue Bridge over the Patuxent River will shut down after the morning commute Monday, Aug. 6.

"The bridge will be closed until late fall as we replace the deck and make other repairs and also paint the structural steel members," says Chuck Gischlar with the Maryland State Highway Administration.

The 72-year-old bridge on Maryland 214 connects Prince George's and Anne Arundel counties and carries 11,000 vehicles a day.

The work will add an additional 40 years on to the bridge's life.

Detours will be posted, with U.S. 301, U.S. 50 and Maryland 424 taking the brunt of the overflow

Business that are located right next to the bridge will still be accessable.

What option(s) does this leave you with? How much longer will your commute be?

We posted at the same time. That is not the East Capitol Street (Whitney Young) Bridge. At first, I thought it was. So, it won't affect on my commute.
