Mig...I was not trying to imply that you were ignorant...I just love grits & I grew up on southern food. Salted Mackrel, biscuts & grits with king syrup for breakfast. Watching my Dad skin eels and cats (that's fish) in the back yard. it's all good!!!!!!!

Hmm, I guess just because your dad and my mom are twins, doesn't mean they have the same eating habits. :barf: :lmao:

OMG - we are related?!
You know what? It's a distinct possibility that I am kin to Ms. Holliday (Flo). She is from Jasper, Alabama and I have a large number of relatives in that area.

She looks just like my grandmomma - I am the runt of the litter. :ohwell: Most likely we are all related - freaky thought huh? :eyebrow:

If you like grits and shrimp, go to the West Lawn Inn in North Beach. The best grits I have ever had.......yummmmmm!!!!!!!
I'll have to try them. The best grits I ever had was at Callaway Gardens down in Pine Mountain, Georgia. They're called Speckled Heart grits and are way yummy. :yum: The other thing I loved down there were the muscadine grapes. Muscadine jelly on piping hot biscuits.

That's a verb! :tantrum

Actually, it's kind of a pre-start adverb, like "gonna".

Noun: That's a pretty good mess of fixin's Aunt Flo cooked.

Verb: Aunt Flo is fixin' the clutch in her monster truck.

Adverb: Aunt Flo is fixin' to fire up the still again.

Don't mention it.

Speaking of which - a true Southerner knows that to eat grits the only acceptable method is salt, pepper, pat of butter and maybe some gravy. What is with pouring cream on it? :twitch:

My wife eats them with cream and sugar.:barf:
I try to hide under the table when we are out and about (Sorry, Jo).
