The Inaugural Southern Maryland Pinewood Derby Cup is coming to the Mechanicsville Volunteer Fire Department Social Hall on April 22, 2007.

Come out for a day filled with fun and racing for all ages.

First 150 entrants receive a commemorative patch and T-Shirt. All entrants receive a BSA Pinewood Derby Car Kit.

$10.00 entry fee
$2.00 discount if you supply your own car kit
Join Cub Scouts and race for $5.00

I wish I had the stuff to fix up my old pinewood derby car

I have the tools and I am willing to help anybody that wants to race build their car. That includes fixing up their cars from when they were a Cub Scout.

Just to clear up something that apparently isn't clear in my flyer:

This race is open to everybody. Male, female, youth, adult, resident of southern MD, resident of China that flew in just for the race, it doesn't matter. Everybody is welcome to race.

That is why we have an Outlaw class in this derby. Heavier weight limit, aftermarket speed parts and longer wheelbase OK.

In our Pack, we have a division for parents and siblings to hopefully get the dads to allow Jr. to make his own car.

Ever seen the movie Down and Derby? If not, rent it. You will LOVE it.
