BTW, got a pressure washer?

Frayed Knot.

We went through three of them in a week.. Bought one, blown head gasket, took it back, bought a different one, didn't work.. etc..etc..

After the third one we decided we just weren't meant to own one..

Larry,

Not sure if you knew about the 'Blue Knob ATV Run' fundraising event in Blue Knob PA area. I am going there for the first time with my quad. I understand that dirtbikes are allowed. It is supposed to be about 40 miles of trails (up from 30-some miles last year). Checkpoints, food vendors, etc will be scattered all over. Cheap registration. Six quad buddies of mine are going there again. The one in Spring is on May 9th and one in Fall will be Aug 22nd ( I think).

More info here: Blue Knob Fire - blueknobfire.4t.com

My friend told me what the trails are like: just a bunch of trails through mix of woods and farms. I will have to see it myself.

I like the 'ATV run' fundraising event idea. I am sure many soMD volunteer fire dept would need $$$ from ATV run fundraising event. I wonder how hard it is to get this kind of event set up and run it. I gotta check it out in PA and see how it's done.

Thoughts? Comments? I wanna go ride drit bikes there today.:buddies:

The place is way over priced and you can ride all the trails in about a half hour.. Nothin challenging?

Hatfield and McCoy's (I think) ATV park in WV is supposedly GINORMOUS.

I just got back last week.:yahoo: I go about once a month..
Anyone interested in going PM me.
I noticed an "ATV Meet" at St James last week-end.. over 50 ATV's started out there, and did a SoMD loop.. Looking at the mud on the road, it looked like it was a sizable route, and maybe more than 50.

I think that looks like a lot of fun. I can't warrant buying one, because I wouldn't know where to ride it, but if I could find a group meet every weekend to ride with, that sounds like it would be a BLAST.

Remember they had a HUGE ATV meet in PA while I was there.. Think the course was well over 50 miles, and they must have had 1000 ATV's show up.

If you teach me how to sail I'll lend you one of mine and take you out ridin by my house, to see if you like it.

They call me ... Sarcasmo
:buddies:

Maybe I'll go tomorrow. I'm a noob anyway. Itching to ride.

It supposed to be nicer but you'll still need a pressure washer:lol:

I took some shots of round 2 (Storm line) coming across the river. It was just a wall of gray marching across the Potomac. The ATV park is only 5 or so miles up river from me so they are definitely getting a good soaking now.

Never been, a bit pricey - but people I know who have been like it... gets boring after a few visits.

I would love to see a local one. A buddy of mine goes to NE PA once a year, we are going soon. We are going to do a 40 mile run to an abandoned train tunnel, 1 mile long and ride through it. Some of the sites are breathtaking. :yay: We do have a guide and he rides every weekend.

That is going to be a big trip for the boy and I here soon. Most of the towns are ATV friendly, you just drive on the streets from the hotel to the trail heads.

:yay: Thanks, I am going to check this out. Problem with doing this in MD is our laws are way different than say PA and WV... plus the culture here is a bit different and landowners are into "liability" issues if it were allowed to happen.

I am not far from the ATV Park (I'm up off Rt. 6 east of the 84 Lumber). have a pressure washer. Feel free to stop by and hose off when you're done.

I am on the Charles County side of the ATV park if you want to clean before heading back north Larry.

If you want to go riding on Sunday let me know.. I have more trails to ride on than the park.

Dude - we have to have that beer and talk. I love to ride, and the boy (12) is damn good. We need to find a place/buddy to hook up with as our older "local" trails have been lost to a new land owner. :ohwell:

For one person it's a $50 membership fee plus $50 everytime you ride.

You can ride any and all Hatfield Mcoys trails from any trail head for $50 a year.
How to get a Hatfield-McCoy Trail System User Permit - Trail System User Permits - Hatfield-McCoy Trails

I don't know who this jackass that own's the park here in SMD thinks he is with them stupid prices.
A few miles further down the road you can go too...
