I'm so excited to see the New Years Resolution people tomorrow evening! It's gonna be grand!

You should so see the guy that makes up his own way of lifting weights. Its pretty fun trying to figure out what body part/s he is working.

Then there is this couple, the guy, well he thinks he is trainner of the year. Half the time he has the woman bent over in some silly position while he has his privates rammed in her butt trying to make it look like he is supporting her posture.

It was pretty slammed last night, but it seemed like I lucked out. Everything I wanted to do didn't get in anyone's way and likewise. I did see one guy though, it seemed like he must've been told by three different people "I'm on there, dude." Then, I had to do cardio so I was miserable and cried through it... :pete:

So far at lunch time it's been pretty tame. Tomorrow will be my first evening since the new year. I usually get there a little ahead of the crowd so I'm able to get on Cardio. But the New Years people don't last long, it funny to see the ones left by the end of February.

I think the rule we go by is St. Patty's Day - if they're still hanging after that - they're for real, most drop out by then though.

OK All

I am sick of New Year's Resolutions.

This is such a load of crap. Why do you think the New Year will get you motivated to not be a fat ass? Ninety-nine % of these dumbasses quit in a few months. The other one % spin their wheels forever.

Just give up now save money and don't waste my gym space............

:lmao:

Does anyone on here watch Biggest Loser?

I would have to say if I were in a gym with some of them I would scream. I know they are very over weight and extreamly out of shape. But come on, suck it and stop your B##chin.

We do have a few of those at my gym as well. I'm sitting there stretching out my legs the whole time listening to some woman complain about how tired she is and hard it is to do the stuff the trainner was showing her. Buck up and put on some big girl panties would ya!

OK. This one is about me

I sincerely hope everyone reems me for this one. Because now I am "that guy" at the gym. :stupid:

Anyone would tell you that I am the SAFEST(always use collars, spotters, etc.) person in the gym.........

So the past few weeks have been good to me in the gym. I have broken some personal records and my training has been going well for my next competition in February. :boxing: Needless to say I have been walking around feeling very confident about everything I have been doing. Well, maybe a little overconfident.

Today was a Max Effort Upper Body training day for me. What this means is I have one exercise/movement that I go all out on based on how I feel that day. The movement I selected was a favorite of mine. Reverse Band Bench Press. Those who don't know what this is, oh well. I'm not explaining it.

I warmed up like usual, worked up, and proceded to do a double with 405. Easy. I was now ready to start doing singles with some heavy weight. I loaded the bar with 455. This is almost 150lbs lower than my best effort. :faint:

I unracked 455. Lowered it to my chest. Proceeded to press it up. Got within 2 inches of lockout and stalled. :bonk: I dug as deep as I could but could not lock it out. The bar then started to descend and pin me. :yikes: I started to laugh. WTF?

Luckily, a guy I work with noticed me stapled to the bench. He ran over and helped me out. :high5: As you can guess I didn't have a spotter. This is something I normally never go without. It was 455 for Christ's sake!

So I am nominating myself as SOYG #45734652052. I was "that guy" who thinks he doesn't need a spotter. Feel free to hit me hard for this numbnut move. :smack::buttkick:

You lived to tell about it, no major bumps or bruises. Those aren't the laughable ones - you knew what you were doing. In honor of this occasion, I'm wearing sandals and jeans to the gym tomorrow for the workout!!!

I wouldn't sweat it at all, in the grand scheme of things you didn't knock the wall down between us and the Sears storage area so we won't be expanding the gym anytime soon!

Last night I was lifting weights before spin class and it was packed... I was moving from one machine to the next and tried to avoid bumping into someone so instead I whacked my head on one of the bars... I tried to play it off and finished up, I noticed however when I walked into the girls locker room that my head was bleeding :yikes: How freakin embarrassing

I'm pretty sure he meant reverse as in negative, you may be thinking "reverse grip". I didn't see him doing reverse grip benches anyway.

Sorry Ant, that's not what I was doing either. I can explain what I was doing but I doubt Plex would get it then. :bigwhoop:

Thanks for lookin out for a brother though! I will be more careful in the gym! Cannot get injured before my meet on the 23rd of Feb!

BTW, I am going to do that 455 for a triple (that means 3 reps PLEX) next week. Mark my words. :boxing:

When I was in the USAF, I got so "pumped up" once that I headbutted the bar before my squat attempt. (I know I am a meathead...)

I knocked myself out and had to be taken to the hospital. I had to go before my squadron XO because I recieved a Letter of Counseling for doing that. :whack:
