Special Comment on Danica Patrick's Motegi win

I never stated that driving any racecar is the same. I stated that driving any racecar is hard.

:diva:

Ain't nobody "the world's greatest drivers" until they've driven rush hour on the beltway. :killingme:killingme:killingme

I'm arguing with Michael here, telling me driving any racecar is the same and that NASCAR is no different than IndyCar or GrandAm. I've stated that Tony Stewart has run all those classes of racing and says NASCAR's the hardest. Tony, unlike Michael, has a reputable racing reputation. As far as I know, Michael's "raced" at Summitt Point. But, none of that is verifiable. Guess who I'm more inclined to believe? :jet:

Yes, driving any racecar is hard. :yay: I'm hoping to pull some laps down at Virginia next time I go.

But, even you must admit, the NASCAR schedule is far-more grueling than any other. The other drivers have said it, competing in NASCAR full-time is far more difficult than competing in IRL full-time.

Oh, and I'll have you know, Dale Earnhardt and Denny Hamlin both play SimRacing. :diva:

When have I said that "I hate NASCAR"?
I just prefer to watch cars go left and right.
I watch NASCAR when they go to the Glen, if there isn't a better race to watch. I prefer open wheel, prototypes, and sports cars because they are faster than what NASCAR has to offer and because they race on road courses.
Andy, do you even know who Michael Delaney is?

And, all you have shown to back up your statements is unverifiable claims that you raced at Summitt Point Raceway and self-indulgance.

You dissappoint me everytime you post.

You haven't raced in NASCAR. So, just as your shooting off your mouth at me, how would you know what racing in the NASCAR Cup Series is like. You've kept shooting off that I'm wrong and you're right because you driven a race car.

Yep, you're right. IRL is exactly the same as NASCAR. Tony, Juan Pablo, Jeff and Robby Gordon, Dario Franchitti and the long list of others are all liars because Michael Delaney, 7-time NASCAR champion, knows all. :notworthy

Oh, wait a minute. :ohwell:

You hate NASCAR, you hate NASCAR drivers and you hate everything about NASCAR. I think you've made your point clear. NASCAR drivers are pussies because they race twice as many races that are twice as long in cars that are twice as heavy as open wheel cars. Okay, fine. You're right.

The finishing result doesn't always show for the performance of the race. There were a couple of races where he was running very well and got caught up in a wreck. That, too, is part of racing. Luck.

Montoya started off very badly as well, and he's collected a few top-5 finishes and won at Sears Point (I know, I know, Infineon ) a year ago. I think he finished 2nd at Indy. Montoya and Sorenson would both be doing big things if they were in a better team.

I wish RCR weren't wasting their time with Bobby Labonte. I like Labonte, but he's good as done. I'd rather see them talking to Reutimann, Lagano, C Wallace, or someone who's going to give them a chance. Heck, Scott Wimmer's done incredible over in the Nationwide Series.

But, Labonte's got a champions provisional.

Hornish is committed to NASCAR. He's not going anywhere.

Big friggin whoop, the finish is what counts, period. his average finish over this year and part of last year is 30. That means the crappy finishes for the wrecks when averaged in with the crappy finishes when he didn't wreck equals a crappy average finish of 30th. You can polish a turd all day and it is still a turd.

WTF are you talking about with RCR and Labonte. Certainly a big race insider like you knows that RCR is getting the General Mills sponsorship and Labonte was not mentioned. Petty even said Labonte has said he was going to stay but suppose it is false and he goes. Labonte is in 20th in the points, 13 points ahead of your 3 time IRL champ with crappy equipment in a crappy organization that has been "rebuilding" for 10 years and he is STILL getting better results than Hornish, 13 positions higher in the standings better and only 3 behind your man obsession of the year Juan Pablo.

To further show your ignorance of racing, do you even know who Michael Delaney is?
A fictional movie character. :yay:

BTW Michael, you do realize most race car drivers have a website. If you're going to :blahblah: about driving race cars, send me a PM so I can check out your resume. Because, all I have right now is someone who yaps away on SOMD.com who posts under a fictional movie characters name.

Come to the racetrack sometime. You will see that you probably don't know a single name that you would meet.

Going to local dirt tracks, watching developing drivers - the finish doesn't always tell the tale about a driver's ability.

That's what makes racing NASCAR so great. There's more to it than 43 drivers turning left.

There's been A LOT of talk about Labonte going to Childress. More of it is speculation than not. Quite honestly, I would be looking at Tony Stewart. Remember, his contract is up at the end of the year.

I realize this. But, I can still pull up information on them when I'm at the race track. :yay:

Which track should we meet at? Where do you race?

The NASCAR road races are my favorites.

I watch a lot of road racing, it just so happens that the sports car races (ALMS, GrandAm) and F1 racing bores me.

I perfer side-by-side short track racing myself.

I raced/driven at Summit Point Main, Shenandoah and VIR North and Main. I have also driven the Nordschleife.
I have also pit crewed for amature Porsche, Acura, and BMW cars at the 12 Hours at the Point, and sprint races. We won Touring 2 at the 12 hours last year.

I'm too :nomoney: to afford the drive out to the sports car courses.

It would be pretty awesome if Marlboro re-opened, but that's a longshot in itself.

Racing is expensive, and takes a lot of time, even with enduro karts. Lately I have become more of a spectator and pit crewman. Pit crewing can be a lot of fun when you are helping a friend. I will likley just get back into High Peformance Driving Events at Summit Point this year.

As they say, the best way to make a small bundle in racing, is to start with a large bundle.

I'm not getting paid for any of my reporting.

If they want me to go to Rockingham, Bristol, VIR or Martinsville, they better be supplying the gas and/or the plane.

I turned down free Bristol tickets in March because I couldn't afford the gas. It'll cost more in gas and more in driving time than it'll be worth.

I want to go to the Rockingham race, but there's no way I can make it back up in time. ARCA's going to have to come to Old Dominion Speedway, Hagerstown Speedway or Richmond if I'm going to go out to one of those events. NASCAR's the only type of racing that'll get my :nomoney: to drive out there.
