He also asked if I checked under the seat. He told me then what I have never forgotten and have separately confirmed - under the seat is the very FAVORITE abode of black widows.

This is certainly the truth. We transferred out here from Cali, where the widows are abundant, and you sure check the porta-potties if you have to use one!

About the wolf spiders though, we were told out there that they love to eat widows, so a few people I knew tried to let them move into their backyards and stuff!

Dear Abby, My boss gets a kick out of bringing dead animals in the office and putting them on my desk under papers or in the top drawer of the desk. I have found squished dryed frogs, day old bunnies with no head, many various sized bugs ect. He knows my fear and plays on it. He has brought me to tears several times. And I not sure how many heartbeats I skipped. Can I sue him for being meaan to me? He thinks its funny to watch me push my chair thru the wall, scream and almost drop dead. What should I do. He isnt scared of anything. Signed, Afraid of my desk.

ok I am totally freaked out now, I can't stand spiders, not little ones, medium and especially not the big ones!!! If it were me and I saw that thing on my desk I would have turned around and hauled ### out of there!! :jameo: :jameo: :jameo: :jameo:

If you have a large flat screen like I do - that pic is close to life size. And they scurry very fast - remember, wolf spiders CATCH their prey.

And when I saw it in my garage wall on the way up the stairs - I froze and stared at it - the last thing I wanted was that thing ON me somehow. And I couldn't risk getting CLOSER to it - so I went in the house another way.

What really freaked me was going in the garage later - NOT KNOWING WHERE IT WAS. It might have been on the ceiling - and fallen off on me!

Living off the beaten path, near a lot of woods and farm land-I see large spiders like I've never seen before. 2X's a year a throw a "bomb" under my house in the crawl space, but I swear the spiders are immune to it..
All I can think about is that flipping movie-Arachnophobia!! :jameo:

I tried to watch that movie once. It wasnt even night time. It was the middle of the day, sun shining, and I couldnt do it. Made it thru 10 minutes and had to stop. I am so afraid of bugs and spiders of any kind. I can look at a preying mantis cause theyre cool but thats as far as it goes. Im even to afraid to kill the bugs. Cant squish them, oooohhhhhhh stuff goes crunch and squirts out of them.

I found one in my office a couple of years ago. I put him into one of those plastic terrariums, kept him on my desk, and fed him crickets. Everyone in the office came by to check him out. Then one Monday morning I found out that "he" was a "she"... and a proud new mama. My office-mates made me let her go out back...

Normally, I couldn't care less about spiders.

But this bastard is a wolf-spider the size of a SuperBig-Gulp lid.

And he's hiding.

I think he's behind my UPS.

:twitch:

I am sure Hollow_Soul could help ya find it and kill the little critter :jet:

naawww, spiders are cool. I'm not sure why people get freaked out by the non-poisonous ones? I think stink bugs are much creepier looking (but I don't Raid them either). I'm more scared of Raid residue than bugs...

I'd love to snap a picture of it - but I work on Webster Field and cameras, camera phones, and any other imaging hardware are not allowed without written permission.

Bring bug spray and a jar then.
