He's talking about the softball crowd. Kenny is/was Mr. Softball in St. Mary's and the joke was that he could never run for office because you can't mix politics with religion  The Rail is a big softball hangout.
I met him years ago. I don't know anyone in the softball crowd, but I wonder what they think of Dement as commissioner.

The newbies better get started soon. Fundraisers for the current lot have already started and they have sign up to do it again. Currently there are no new people signed up except for the open Commissioner President position. :coffee:

I heard today that someone on the planning commission will be filing Monday to run against Commissioner Jarboe. Can't remember his name, but they said he owns Swing & Swat in Hollywood.

His name is Joe StClaire, I understand Jarboe is looking forward to running against him. Seems he can not make up his mind on wheither to run in the 3rd district or for Commisioner President. :elaine:

Knowing people but getting them to vote for you is two different things. I know him and I like him but will not vote for him

Vrai the difference in registration is about 1300 so the gap has closed considerably
Well isn't that some stuff! I didn't realize there were so many Republicans down there now.

Republican, thanks for the name was having a brain cramp this afternoon. I will watch that interest. I would imagine he will be well funded. I understand he is tied in with the Chamber of Commerce and one of the local large Catholic Churches in the 7th District

A St. Claire/Jarboe match up would very interesting.

I've never been to the Brass Rail. How would you describe that voting bloc? I would assume you're referring to longtime county families who are conservative Democrats.
Please do not assume. A better way to get the info you desire is to ask. "How would you describe the Brass Rail voting bloc?"

You're right. I should have done that. I often use the word "assumption" to refer to an alleged fact that is probably inaccurate, when I don't know what the true fact would be.
