So, if I live in PA, I have to drive a tractor trailer?
Safe following distance for a car is 7 to 10 mph...so if the tractor trailer is going 55 mph, I have to drive at 45-48 mph?

Are you trying to swallow both feet?

Never mind....I guess it's just too much for all you small minded people to grasp or to think outside of the box as far as safety goes.

No, you just have no clue how to convey a logical thought.

You know this could go on and on....but I'll be the bigger person here and let your last comment go. I can be a nice person, but I can also be a B*TCH. But atleast I know when to quit...it's useless to even argue with you since you are Mr. Know it all and Done it all.

Way to be the bigger person  I was being nice by giving you an opportunity to admit your mistake(s), but you kept digging the hole. Let me break this down for you:
You claimed a safe following distance of "3 seconds per 10 mile an hour".
I questioned that safe following distance.
You said you got it from rules of thumb for tractor trailers.
I said that most people don't drive tractor trailers (implying that your stated safe following distance does not apply to other vehicles).
Then you got really confused and started talking about driving around tractor trailers (which was never the topic of discussion). Plus, you gave a "distance" in mph...which is just physically :dork:

Hope this clears things up!

HOW MUCH SPACE: 1 second for each 10 foot of vehicle for speeds below 40mph.

40 foot rig @ or below 40 mph = 4 seconds above 40mph 5 seconds
60 foot rig @ or below 60 mph = 6 seconds above 40mph 7 seconds

add 1 second for speeds above 40 mph

source Maryland Commercial Drivers License manual DL-151 (9-05)

Now of course this is Maryland and she is talking about Pennsatucky every thing from pennsatucky is screwed up:killingme:
