Sunday School for Atheists

See what happens when you try to lead someone who is not willing to be lead? I'm not a fly crashing into a spiders web. Make your point, or you'll lose me.
I give you the benefit of the doubt as having missed the response to your post, and thus the lack of response to me.

You were, however, led there. Just took me longer. :lmao:

Please, fill the clue in. I'm asking a serious question here, not challenging you.

What separates and makes more special your life than that of the cow that made up my hamburger for lunch? Or, more realistically, the life of a human you've never met?
It's part of nature's food chain. Go swim in the ocean and see where you fit on the food chain once you introduce a shark or two into the chain. Or how about a walkabout in Africa. Lions eat humans in Africa any chance they get. Want something closer to home... go tramp about the woods of Kodak Island.

I believe in good and evil. I believe our life plays out day to day for the most part based on choices we make. The other parts are basically coincidence and luck. I believe rules and laws are required for a working society. This applies to many species, not just humans.

I believe that when a living thing dies, their life energy leaves their body and the body will simply rot away unless artificial means are used to preserve it.

I believe we have one shot at life. This is it. Lead a good life, strive to be happy and content. Some will live on after they are dead. This is done through the memories one leaves with others.

I understand the food chain, but I'm not following where this fits in the discussion.

IMO, the bolded part is contradictory to the non-bolded part. Or, do you simply mean good and evil in an individual? If so, what, for an atheist, defines the difference? What standard is used? Or, is it just each person has the say-so in what is their definition of good and evil?

Good thooughts to live by. I guess the differnce between you and someone who believes in a soul is what constitues the human's "life energy".

I like knowing where my spirit (life force, energy) will spend eternity. No waiting. Instant transformation and presence in God's kingdom.
Luke 23:39-49

39One of the criminals who were hanged there was hurling abuse at Him, saying, "Are You not the Christ? Save Yourself and us!"

40But the other answered, and rebuking him said, "Do you not even fear God, since you are under the same sentence of condemnation?

41"And we indeed are suffering justly, for we are receiving what we deserve for our deeds; but this man has done nothing wrong."

42And he was saying, "Jesus, remember me when You come in Your kingdom!"

43And He said to him, "Truly I say to you, today you shall be with Me in Paradise."

44It was now about the sixth hour, and darkness fell over the whole land until the ninth hour,

45because the sun was obscured; and the veil of the temple was torn in two.

46And Jesus, crying out with a loud voice, said, "Father, INTO YOUR HANDS I COMMIT MY SPIRIT." Having said this, He breathed His last.

47Now when the centurion saw what had happened, he began praising God, saying, "Certainly this man was innocent."

48And all the crowds who came together for this spectacle, when they observed what had happened, began to return, beating their breasts.

49And all His acquaintances and the women who accompanied Him from Galilee were standing at a distance, seeing these things.
