I'm making homemade onion rings and chili-cheese potato skins.

And someone please tell Larry that homemade Ranch dressing is MUCH better than that bottled crap.

We're having
Beer
Italian grinders
Banana Cake
Raisin Cookies (but I use Craisins)
Chips & onion dip
Raisin Cookies

RAISIN COOKIES
INGREDIENTS:
2 cups raisins
1 cup boiling water
1 cup vegetable shortening
1 cup granulated sugar
1 cup brown sugar, packed
3 eggs
1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
4 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
1 1/2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon ground allspice

PREPARATION:
Cook raisins in boiling water for 5 minutes. Set aside to cool. In a mixing bowl, cream shortening; add sugar and beat well. Add eggs and beat until well blended. Add vanilla and cooled raisins. In another bowl, combine flour, baking powder, soda, salt, and spices. Add flour mixture to the creamed mixture; mix well. Drop raisin cookie dough by spoonfuls on greased cookie sheet. Bake raisin cookies at 325° for 10 to 14 minutes, depending on size of cookies.
Makes about 6 dozen raisin cookies.

Saved for posterity - when I make banana bread, my kids love it but they spit out the nuts. Even the 21 year old.

This is Tigger's recipe.

BBQ Chicken Wings

16 chicken wings
1/2 cup kethup
1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce
2 tablespoons honey or maple syrup
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
Dash hot-pepper sauce, optional

1. Place the chicken wings in a large bowl and add ketchup, low-sodium soy sauce, honey or maple syrup, Worcestershire sauce, and a dash of hot-pepper sauce, if desired; mix well, turning chicken wings several times to be sure they're completely coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least an hour or overnight.

2. Preheat the broiler and broil the chicken wings for about 20 minutes, flipping them over halfway through cooking to brown both sides

Add a Tbsp or two of cayenne to Tigger's recipe and NOW you're talking wings. We like it hot.

Today's chili recipe (because I do it different every time):

2 lbs ground beef
1 T garlic powder
1 small chopped onion
2 T chipotle chili powder
2 T cayenne
2 T paprika
8 or 10 shots of Worcestershire
1 t sugar
1 T cumin
two shakes cinnamon

Fry up your ground beef, drain, then add seasonings. Stir together to coat beef with seasonings.

Add:
1 can tomato paste
1 can tomato sauce
1 can diced tomatoes
1 blop jarred beef base
1 C water
(or you can substitute a can of beef broth for the beef base and water)

I serve chili with beans or pasta or Tostitos or over baked potatoes, depending on what everyone wants. Today it's going to be layered queso and chili-cheese skins. :yay:

Eagles Prayer

"Our father who art in the Linc, Donovan be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy 'Bowl' will be won, in Jacksonville as it was in Philly. Give us this week our yearly win and forgive us our pass interferences as we forgive those who make field goals against us. Lead us NOW into interceptions, and deliver us the Trophy. Amen."
