 make it $5

Can't remember the last time I used one

Thing about that is, right after the price goes to $5.00/stamp, something is gonna come along that you can only pay by "snail mail."
Murphy's Law, ya know.....if it's only a one-time thing, then a $5 stamp ain't a big deal; but then there's the other side of that coin.
From just a bill paying perspective, I would just as soon see everything paid online.
We're headed that way anyhow.

The only bill I have that doesn't get paid online is my yard guy. What century are you living in?

My stupid water company is the only reason I buy stamps. Even on their "website" all the comments are from customers bashing them for not having pay online.

I hand my yard guy cash when he's done with the yard.

Taylor Gas doesn't have online bill pay either. So, they are the only check I have to write, everything else is online.

They should privatize USPS; to much government waste going on and they are crazy in debt. Also, they can cancel Saturday service too, all I get is junk mail on Saturdays.

For those of us who still use stamps from time to time, there's the "forever" stamp or whatever they call it. Less than a buck apiece and still good no matter what happens to postal rates. I have rural friends who don't even have computers or smart phones, and for them, snail mail is still the way to go.

I pay METCOM and Taylor Gas through my bank.

They mail them a check

If I could get my mail in my PO box instead of everbody elses mail, I would consider paying more for stamps. If I could stop receiving tons of junk mail, I would consider paying more for stamps. If everytime I walk into a post office theres a line of people and only one window open, while in the back you can hear several people talking and laughing, I would consider paying more for stamps.

yeah, the only bill I get is from the yard guy also, and he just tells me what I owe him whenever I see him.

I get sick of my mailbox being crammed full of junk mail. I figured, if its too full, they will strop delivering? WRONG. they left me a note on my door saying my mailbox is full, and they are having to hold my mail. so, I figured, well, i'm not missing anything.

so they sent another note. I go down there on my Friday off, and I had a WHOLE EFFING CRATE (those plastic boxes they use). nothing but effing junk mail (pennysaver, catalogs, etc).

USPS is one gov't agency I think we can do without. I like the ladies at the postoffice, but really......

IMHO Bulk Mail is the only thing keeping the Post Office Going ... UPS / FedEx could do a better JOB, and UPS Delivers to EVERY House in the Country

USPS Will not / does not ....

The website may not have it but Id be surprised if you cant set it up through online banking with your own bank. Bank will write anyone a check not hooked up to the 21st century... so they dont need to be up to date on technology. Through my bank, this is free.

About the only things that go the snail-mail route (not using a postage-paid envelope from the other party):
1. Birthday Cards
2. Christmas Cards
3. Notarized papers/forms that I can't hand deliver
4. Some charitable donations

Green Tree Mortgage company actually charges $11 for an online payment, so I pay the mortgage by the mail. I call them once a month to bitch at them for it.

I didn't get my mortgage through them but they bought it, said the terms wouldnt change (that to me is a change).

There are alot of older people who still prefer to write checks to pay their bills. My MIL is 69 and prefers to still write checks. Mind you she is the kind of person who would pay the airline more money to talk to them in person (on the phone) to book a trip then to do it online. Myself or my SIL will book stuff for her and have her pay us back. That is how scared she is of going online?!?!

I have noticed a few older savy members on my side of the family are paying bills online (but they worked in industry that demanded to keep up with the latest technology when they were working, so for them paying online is not a big deal or doing other stuff online once they retired (like booking airline tickerts or ordering stuff online)).
