I actually purchased the softer one a few months ago when my pup had to have tumors removed. I like you thought the softer more forgiveness of it would be better. I was wrong. I didn't take into account that the e-collar provided by the vet was clear and the softer satellite dish was black. Even though it was softer when he hit things, the loss of periphial vision ended up with him running into ten times as much stuff and getting anxiety from oonly being able to see out the tunnel. Just something to think about for your pup....

now the one I saw didn't come up high enough to block their vision, it just prevents them from being able to turn and reach their lower body.

oh ok. They told me to size him, the cone itself should come up atleast flush with the tip of his nose and with him being a black lab it was still pretty big and blocked all side vision. All Four Paws - Home of the Comfy Cone

I ended up just going with a zippered dog jacket on him instead but looking now maybe this is one of the ones you are talking about. Or an alternative that may work better for you...Comfortable Dog Cone Alternatives - Whole Dog Journal Article

that's different than the one I saw. When I pick her up, I'll see if I think I'll need it,then have my daughter watch her and I'll run out and pick it up.

I'm headed out the door to go get her now. Talked to the vet on the phone around 2, he said the surgery went very well and she'll be ready to come home any time after 5. I miss her, can't wait til she's home.

She's home, groggy puppy. I have a crate that she used to use, haven't used it in a while thought she was too big for it, but as soon as she came home she went right in. She's out like a light. I took this pic before she went to sleep. She's loopy.

I have a stretchy tank top with stain on it I won't wear, stain won't come out, it's long, if need be I may do the same thing, sounds more comfy.

She's doing great today, not 100% herself, but much better than yesterday. She hasn't even tried to mess with the suture area, she's more interested in the shaved patch on her arm where they had the IV.

Glad to hear! They usually do better than we do in these situations! Hope she does not get too mad about not being able to swim!

"Frasier" She's the Boss (1995) - Memorable quotes

Frasier: [Eddie is barking at the dog upstairs] Oh, for God's sake, I am trying to get some sleep! I asked you to keep that dog quiet, and instead you outfit him with a megaphone! In the last thirty-six hours I haven't had so much as a nap, and I've got to be back at the station by 2 A.M.
[stares at Eddie]
Frasier: Eddie, listen carefully. By the time this day is up, one of us is going to sleep.
[Eddie ducks his head]

She's back to her old self, feeling 100% better. Hasn't tried to mess with the sutures, I don't even think she realizes they are there. Only problem, I notice that since she hasn't been swimming, she doesn't sleep as good at night. I know she misses the pool and it did wear her out.

Glad to hear she's doing so good. I know how she feels, lol, I always sleep better after a few laps in the pool. How long does she have to wait until she can participate in "water sports" again. LOl
