What?!
I'm just glad that only one person on here knows who my husband is or I can just imagine the ribbing he'd be getting over this.![]()
You know how hard it has been NOT to make any comments to him about his? :rofmao:

On a serious note- AHEM-my uvula was removed when they removed my tonsils a few years ago. I had a sleep study and was told I had sleep apnea. Once the ENT saw how bad my tonsils were scarred from infections all my life, he removed my uvula as well. It has caused me no difficulties in swallowing-please no wisecracks- and helped with my snoring and quality of sleep.
Have your husband go to an ears, nose and throat specialist if it continues to bother him.
Had mine removed years ago for snoring. Didn't help much, just a different sound now.![]()

Sometimes food would get up in my nose via the back of my throat when swallowing, but as the months go by it gets better.

Husband had another episode Sunday night/Monday morning. Freaked him out so bad that he asked me to stay home with him while he slept just in case (I normally leave for work at 3:40am). So, he's going to talk to an ENT doctor about having his uvula removed. Which doctor did you use, Vince and FF?

I had mine done by Dr. Daidone at Calvert. She was great. I had tonsils, uvula, and soft palate all done at the same time. It was the worst pain I have ever had. Imagine a raging case of strep that goes on for 2 weeks. The liquid vicodin didn't really help with the pain, it just made me care a little less.
The husband of a forumite had his done about a year ago. I warned her about the pain but she said he handles pain well so it wouldn't be a problem, implying that I was just being a wimp. He ended up in the ER a couple of times for the pain and because he didn't eat or drink anything for days. At least I wasn't that bad!
That way, they'd have to deal with him instead of me.
Dr. Anderson is great too. She and Dr. Daidone use to be partners. Both are good choices.Husband is finally getting an appointment to have his removed. His primary Dr is setting up an appointment with Dr Anderson. Anyone use her before?

Just curious, has your husband been on antibiotics? I would think that would be the first line of defense before something as drastic as removal.
