Tattoo and Body Piercing in SoMD

I'm looking to get some more tat work done (generally not picky about the tattoo artist since I specify the design and it's nothing complicated- if they can trace they should suffice).

However, when it comes to body piercing, I'm more picky since when I got my nips pierced, they ended up not as straight as I would have liked (didn't get them done in SoMD).

This time around I'm looking at getting a lorum or hafada piercing, but was wondering if the professional body piercers in the area (seeing as it's kind of the boonies out here) any good when it comes to genital piercings.

Anyone have any recommendations on shops with experienced body piercers?

Clarence at Chronic Ink in Mechanicsville. It's been a while since I stopped in but I think he's still there. He has a lot of experience. As I'm sure you already know, have a chat with him first, feel him out (not up, you know what I mean!), see if you're comfortable, etc. The shop is clean, and from what I can recall (don't quote me), he's attended the Fakir Intensives.

Good luck! Post back and let us know what you decided on, where you went and how it went...without the pics of course.

As the saying goes.."Two each his own", but why would you want to go through such pain to have a Genital piercing? From what I know, they really HURT, and from what I know in the Medical Standpoint..you can get badly infected, so much so, that the Urethra swells so bad, that it's hard to pee. Not to mention...the frequent Urinary Tract Infections. Please re-think that. I know that the Red Octopus gives great Tats, and have also heard that they do Piercings. Located on NB Route 4 in Prince Frederick, MD :faint:

Neither the lorum or hafada pierce the urethra and from what I've been told aren't that painful. Besides, pain is relative to each person and pain is not a factor in the decisions some of us make for ourselves. In fact, it is sometimes an enhancement to the experience (think Native American Okeepa). Any piercer worth their salt will not only use sterilized procedures but inform their client of proper after care (kind of like nurses and doctors do). Barbell is doing his research, he apparently is not willing to go to just anyone to have this done (kind of like we do for surgeons).

I know, thinking about a 10- or 12-gauge needle going through the skin of a man's scrotum makes even a woman cringe doesn't it?

Interesting piercings :really: :lmao: Check out Jenna over at Red Octopus in Prince Frederick. She only works Thursday. She's done a few of my piercings, including my 2 microdermals. She has also done a few PA & jacob's ladder on a friends of mine. Good clean work and a very good personality.

The other chic that pierces over there, Peaches, I think :boo: I'd stay away from her. She effed my tongue piercing a few yrs ago.

As far as ink goes, Ink Junkzee in White Plains :yay: Tim or Dana. Both amazing artists!

Wow, I wasn't expecting as much input as this considering the subject of my questions! Thanks everyone. I've driven by the Red Octopus place many times, will definitely do some calling around to all the aforementioned places.

Aye, a lorum or hafada piercing should be no more painful (maybe even less) than my nipple piercings. And the infection rate is less for these types of piercings.

I personally could never bring myself to getting something like a PA :yikes:.

red octopus. Got several done there and some micro's..loved it. They don't rush you, spent lots of time marking and looking at placement..turned out great.

My fave for "special" piercings is in frederick soo it's probably too far of a drive..but red octopus should be able to hook you up.

ps. There are VERY few genital piercings that actually pierce the urethra..and they happen to be pretty easy to care for..urine is a perfect piercing wash..it's warm, saline, and sterile. :coffee:

The PA was not as bad as I thought. Easier than the nipples. And heals very quick. I went to Red Octopus in Prince Frederick and was very happy with their service. Dottie did my piercing. She was very nice and helpful.

The new piercer down at Prodi-G in Waldorf is GREAT and they're usually running a special or two. He pierced my hood a few weeks ago =). They're located next to Southern Police Supply.

Just for future reference, Julie at Red Octopus did my foot tattoo and I'd recommend her to anyone. She's great!

Anyone know if Red Octopus is still a reputable place for microdermal piercings?

Microdermals are either illegal, or will be shortly. Gurl was telling me about. If you can find someone who does, get it done soon. She got hers at Ink Wizard.
