My wife and I are considering Tennessee as our retirement destination in 5 - 10 years (whenever she's decided she's done).Tuesday, 22OCT. The reality is setting in now. Might come back to visit some time down the road.
I loved Memphis (Millington) when I was there. School wasn't nearly long enough. Please tell us you aren't going to end up in Memphis.
Worst duty station of my 24 year career. Open bay berthing in a WW-II dump barracks, hot, humid, and devoid of anything remotely enjoyable within miles. Did AFUN "P", AT "A", and AFTA schools there. 1.25 years of misery and despair. Thankfully when it ended I got to go to on an all expense paid cruise around the Med.I loved Memphis (Millington) when I was there. School wasn't nearly long enough.
Mt. Juliet; about 20 min. from Nashville. Reminds me of "LP City" in a lot of ways.Good for you, I have family outside of Selmer, Nashville, Memphis and Olive Branch, Miss.
What Part of Tenn are you moving to?
Nope.....Mt. Juliet. Please tell us you aren't going to end up in Memphis.
Good Luck DK.
Thank you, littlelady.I lived in Knoxville for a short time. I think you will love TN. Tell Dolly I said hey. Keep in touch with the forum. Safe travels, friend.
One of my grandfathers went through Parris Is in 1928 when he enlisted and again in 42 when he was drafted.Worst duty station of my 24 year career. Off topic, but if you're interested, this forum is just loaded with great information and very knowledgable and helpful people.TN is a likely place where we will retire in a few years....searching for land in TN right now to build our "off grid" solar & wind powered home on 5-10 acres. Need plenty of trees to feed our wood stove...
There's a "chicken place" called "Party Fowl." It is AWESOME! I LOVE that place!Eat some hot chicken for me!
Good Luck Deekay!!!! Enjoy the retirement!!!!
Well, I'll have to contribute to the paying of the bills, so a job is in my near future. ANYTHING that does NOT involve heights OR climbing. H*ll, I can mop floors for all I care.Good Luck Deekay!!!! Enjoy the retirement!!!!
