Terrified-looking WNBA star Brittney Griner is led into Russian courtroom in cuffs

Well, prior to her arrest, she refused to stand/stay on the court for the national anthem, supported BLM and hated the USA...wonder what she thinks now that she sees how life is in other countries. Some countries fully expect you to abide by their laws, guess she overlooked that.
6 years ago Trump would have had her back home already. But after the last 5 years, I don't think he's up to getting stabbed in the back again.

Good lesson for her to learn that USA is in fact the greatest nation on this planet. There are many more who need to learn this the hard way. May they all travel to a foreign country of their choice carrying illegal contraband.

You know, I was in Russia once, for a month. One thing I was told about law enforcement there - watch your ass. They're corrupt as hell, and if you're identifiable as an American - EASY to do, because you're stupid enough to smile at strangers or wear sneakers - cops will make crap up about you to extort you for a bribe.

Happened to my mother in law on her first trip there with my wife. My wife's American friends warned her - do not speed, do not go through a stop sign, and if they scream at you, OBEY. They LOVE to pick on foreigners especially Americans because one, they'll get away with it and two, some Americans are ESPECIALLY stupid and treat all cops the way they do with American cops. When my wife was traveling back to St Pete to fly home, cops pulled over their van, and they told her to sit way in the back - because if they knew she was there, they'd take all her cash.

So - no. Only a little sympathetic. This isn't "wearing white after Labor Day" infraction of the norms.
This is drugs. This is Russia. And one thing I learned there, if you think America is racist, Russia is racist on steroids. They're racist against Central Asians. They're racist against Uzbeks and Turkmens and Kazakhs and Mongols and Armenians. They hate blacks and Jews and the people who live in the Caucusus.

They warned us, if you're black, do NOT go around alone at nigh - youth will attack you and cops will stand and watch - and laugh - and might even join.

I feel sorry for her. I read her brother's account of jail there. Could be worse, and that's to say, it's really bad.

What I think however, is IF she ever leaves - she won't gain an appreciation for this country. She won't learn anything.

Damn, hasn't anyone seen Midnight Express?

Nuts - now that creepy movie theme is in my head.
None of that's true, Sam; just ask Bernie.

This doesn’t excuse your cruelty.

I was giving the evidence that most states don’t even consider this a crime, much less one worthy of 10 years.

Do you think it should be worth 10 years in prison? Or are you just giddily to see an American jailed in Russia?
As for myself, I'm tickled pink to see an America-hating communist who has done nothing but benefit from having grown up in this country get some comeuppance. You'd think she'd be happy amongst other people who hate America as much as she does.

The Russians themselves don't seem to be all that thrilled with her, though. They're probably ray-siss.

So I’m thinking we should send ambassador Colin Kaepernick to arrange her release.

Hopefully they have a guard that doesn't discriminate. All pink on the inside

For your coinsideation ...

At one time they were a friend. But give it some time, and they will be again.
They are our friend now. Many do not believe it ..or refuse to. Have shared that information a couple places on this forum.

Thread with Heartening news incoming..once again Russia is said to be our ally by someone many probably do not listen to because they prefer the corporate news media. To each their own. I want the truth is why I listen to people that will give it to me.

I'm giddy to see a POS American Marxist, who hates her Country & everything it stands for... jailed in Russia, for having the STUPIDITY to break a Sovereign Nation's Laws, because of her sense of entitlement & Privilege...Personally, I think her sentence should be twice what it is, because she's a vile, America Hating POS Marxist...Your ignorance isn't even astounding anymore. It's just typical you, now

You know I get the hilarity that you all get about this, like it’s not you, some black woman, who cares.

But it’s the encroachment, we all are at risk of these people. You can never let them take any of us.
You may not think a black woman is an American, but she is. And we should be appalled that Russia had put her in jail.
It's not the color of her skin...
It's her chitty Marxist CHARACTER, you friggin imbecile!!!

Almost make you wonder... did the US contact Russia and say, "Hey, we want to make an example out of her to any of the other idiot Americans who disparage their own country. Make it tough for her..."
Its President Trumps fault!!!!! :lmao:

To ask a stupid question, if we ended up doing a "swap" to get this person back stateside will they get no punishment here either?

If it was something that's not illegal here, like being arrested for being gay in a muslim country, obviously they wouldn't be in trouble here. But hash oil is illegal here, so would she be tried here?

Or if we go through the trouble of exchanging a prisoner do we also pretend they never did anything bad? What if they were a murderer?

C'mon man! A POC, female, lesbian, pro b-ball player in a same sex marriage? Waddayou think the odds are? They will be naming streets, parks and schools after her. Hell, she may get a Nobel Prize for exposing the horrors of the Russian penal (she hates that word) system.
