This explains why you need private enterprise involved. Everyone knows that there is gold in them there hills. And nothing motivate expansion like gold. Metaphorically speaking of course.

Do you really think we are going to colonize Mars when we couldn't even build Moon bases? It's a fantasy. But if Elon wants to do it, more power to him. Maybe he can be on board the first ship sent there. I won't hold my breath on that one.

None of us posting here will ever see a man set foot on Mars.

Just to be clear, I do not support anyone who is vandalizing Tesla dealers or Tesla owners. There are other ways to protest without violence and vandalism. When they catch those people, they need to be convicted and jailed.

Can't say. But I do know that Earth is a closed system. And without expansion and additional resources the species dies. I'm 60. Barring accidents or some adverse health issue, I expect to reach 80 or better. And I do think I'll see it.

See, I'm not to hung up on Mars. I think the Moon needs to established as a St Louis to the Belt. Where all the good stuff is. But I know we're going. And we need to.

I think I'll be contacting that news desk.
These cuts target a range of programs, including Social Security and cancer research, sparking backlash among progressives.
Giving misleading statements like this don't help anyone. And did any Tesla drivers actually have a hard time accessing the charges? When I saw the protest they weren't blocking anything. And lastly, the complete mischaracterization of Trump's and musk's comments. Their comments were not directed at protesters but by people who were actually carrying out physical attacks. These are not mistaken uses of the language by the press. This is deliberate conflation of two things that are not connected.

Go to their Facebook page, find this story and the comments. Wow.

My thoughts: Probably wrong.
I doubt there were an y people native to St. Mary's County in that protest.
Mostly come-downer liberals who work on the base and came to our county for the Gubmint base jobs.

Just a guess, I am probably wrong, but i don't think so.
IMO most St Mary's County residents born here are not prone to radical liberal BS.

We've still got Jimmy Cusick here, if the cause is crazy enough he's there.

Yeah, I remember a few weeks back checking this (regarding cancer) - it seemed highly inconsistent with his promises (which he typically makes some meausre to make good on, even if you don't agree with his methods) to eradicate cancer.

What I found was, a reduction in funding for NIH - not substantial but correlating with some of their stupider research programs.

Since NIH DOES do cancer research, the naysayers looked for one program in there that would gin up the most anger, even though it wasn't targeted.

I'd be glad to be shown otherwise, but that's what I found - an agency losing funding, and news stories implying the cuts are all across the board, which they aren't.

Well it's not far off from the way they react to federal funds for Planned Parenthood.

When people say, there shouldn't be federal funding for abortions, they come back and say, the fed doesn't actually give us all that much money.
CUT IT OFF, and they claim that the federal government is shutting down vital care for pregnant women (tactfully avoiding saying abortions).

So - which is it? A lot, a little?

And - again - they are pitching it as though everyone's checks will either be canceled or reduced - and nothing of the sort has happened or is planned to do that.

Well those also the bit where just like the dei at the Pentagon some malicious compliance going on. They won't cut the do stink. Bugs really stink research. They'll plan a cut to the cancer research to show the pain as they say

It's all over the Internet now, that Musk only owns about 12% of Tesla's stock - bankrupting Tesla would do FAR MORE damage to others, particularly those with 401k's having investment in Tesla. Presumably while Walz was calling for tanking Tesla, the good citizens of Minnesota saw their collective 401k fortunes drop several hundred million.

So what do the progs have to say?

Paraphrasing - it's just rich people losing money so screw them ---- any stock portfolio totally invested in one stock (<-- which clearly shows someone who has no idea how 401ks are done) deserves to be tanked ------------

This is how they think. Fck all the other people, so long as we hurt Elon.

One of my nieces however, is outraged that an innocent person may have gotten sent to El Salvador - you know, lots of criminals, one innocent person, and she's calling for blood. Same group of people who think screwing over and ruining the fortunes of thousands of people is acceptable collateral loss.

I can't think like these people.

I am guessing after Walz's stupid remark about Tesla stock tanking, people jumped in to buy Tesla shares?

I forget who was saying - maybe Tyrus - but the way it works is - buy low, sell high. When a stock - with a good future - tanks - you BUY it.
