Color me stupid too then because a staffer accessing a personal cell phone during a group chat like this doesn't add up to me.

I don't think it's their personal cell, it's a govvy one. But neither here nor there, even when you hit the wrong person to add you still see their name. Walking down the logic trail, we can all pick up our phones and look at our contacts. The journo shouldn't have even been in the contacts list.

Some Righties are saying that maybe the journo spoofed his name/number and that's how he ended up on the list.

STAAAAAHPPP!

Waltz needs to be fired. Like today. Yesterday would have been better.

Now can we talk about how many high-level, classified meetings Hunter Biden, who did not, and does not, have a security clearance sat in on?

The left wing media knew about this and said nothing. If it was mentioned they called it a lie.

Oh wait, it's a gov phone? Ok that was one of two things that I didn't like about this. The other was (obviously) the journalist being on the chat. I'm also operating under the assumption that the info was CUI and not secret or above. Agreed; whoever added the journalist should be gone. If it comes out that it actually was higher than CUI being discussed, then heads should roll.

where was this reported AS A PERSONAL CELL PHONE ?

Why are you yelling?

There is one example of an article saying it's personal phones. Vrai mentioned it being on a gov phone which partly changes my opinion on it.

EDIT: I'm happy to change my stance to "Color me stupid too then because a staffer accessing someone else's government cell phone during a group chat like this doesn't add up to me."

From Elsewhere originally posted to Twix

Apparently, it was not NSA Mike Waltz, but his deputy Alex Wong who created the Signal chat group to discuss the operation against the Houthis. It seems Wong invited cabinet members and added journalist Jeffrey Goldberg. Whether intentionally or by accident remains unknown.

Where was this reported to be on government phones? I saw Vrai mention that and I've seen you mention that. I did some searching and everything I found has talked about it being on personal phones. I have been unable to find anything where it says government phones.

Not looking for a fight or questioning; just want to see where people are getting this from.

I didn't read all the posts prior to reading yours but I did watch the hearings. Tulsi was questioned whether or not it was her personal phone she was using and she was pretty evasive.

I don't think it's much ado about nothing but that stems from being in the Navy for twenty years and knowing my enlisted ass would have been hung out to dry if I made what I see as a security breach. I just don't see why it's so hard to say hey guys we f'd up, sorry, thank the gods nothing happened, learned my lesson, won't do it again. MR was the only one who came close. Respect.

The only breach was the inclusion of Goldberg. Figure out how that happened and make sure that never happens again. At best all I have seen is what used to be called FOUO (now apparently referred as CUI).

Partly agree. The theories on how Goldberg got added have been pretty fascinating so far REALLY hope we find out and that it's the truth.
