We can all enjoy our dinner now, and those poor waiters and waitresses won't be forced into polluting their lungs...

I am so happy. I hate being around the smoke. It will finally make for a nice evening to go out and enjoy dinner.

You should go to Cici's. No smoking or alcohol. :yay:

So let's see whats next,,,, oh yea trans-fat products. they will be banned. Guess the cheeseburger will be after that followed by all sodas that make people fat. How about salt? Shouldn't that be banned from restaurants also? Kills people also. Eggs,,,, now there is a killer.
Christ, keep the government out of my life. We can find fault with almost everything we eat. Best thing to do is get canned veggies, throw out the veggies and eat the can for the iron it might put in my blood

I was merely suggesting a place that had no smoking nor alcohol.

I'm working on getting children under the age of 21 banned from all restaurants that serve alcohol.

I totally concur with this, and even more so since being diagnosed with cancer. I have stopped eating out, and that won't change, but I stopped eating out at restaurants, partially, because of the smoke. I once read a scientific study, (wish I could find it now) that was performed prior to NYC enacting this, it was interesting to see how many toxins were in the air of restaurants that were smoking ones, even the ones with non smoking too.

Since I have done my best to stay clear of second hand smoke, my CEA (cancer embryonic antigen) has decreased, and I have to wonder if that was a contributing factor. I would say yes, it was because in smokers a normal CEA can be up to 5.0 and be normal. Mine was 2.0 when I had the cancer, and afterwards stayed around .3, then I stopped going to restaurants and was very cautious around people that do smoke, and it is 0.0 now.

I don't care if people smoke, that's their business, and I have several good friends that are smokers, but I should not have to smell it, it's not a habit they can self-contain, it travels, therefore, for the benefit of others, I am glad this bill passed. :howdy:

How about banning anybody that is retired also. I am tired of standing in line behind them as they count each penny and dime they have to fumble with to pay their bill

You should have the testing done in your house. Do you know that the inside of your house is more polluted than the outdoors? Surprise, surprise!

The point is Elaine is that people can and do find fault with everything. I am just tired of a bunch of cigar smoking, Johnny Walker drinking polititians telling me what I can do and not do. What I can eat and not eat.

Yeah, this isn't a big deal to me. I was in Maine when they passed the same law, so I'd just step outside to have my smokie which was always right next to an entrance. Now all patrons get to walk through my smoke filled cloud just to enter the restaurant and I don't want to hear any #####ing about it because I'm outside.

But the problem is that some places have banned that also. When does it stop?

I wish all these whiners would get a bubble and leave the rest of us alone.

I wopuld love to open a "Private Club" restaurant where you pay a quarter at the door to join for the day and you can smoke and drink and relax and try to forget all the bulls##t that we have to put up with all day at our jobs or just because we want to
