The AntiChrist

Obviously, you disagree with his theology, but that is no reason to attack the man with such a viciousness.

Popes has been popular targets of the Antichrist label for centuries. Being a powerful and influential religious figure, anyone who disagrees with the Roman Catholic Church's theology sees him as moving thousands/millions away from the perceived "true message". That's pretty much job #1 for the end-times idea of an Antichrist.

Yeah, that's probable. A man who travels the world with the message, "Christ Our Hope", leads tens of thousands of people in worship of Jesus Christ, and who spends hours a day in personal prayer.

I am not attacking him...just stating my opinion...if you read your Bible you would understand what the Antichrist is suppose to be...the Antichrist is suppose to be powerful and influential religious figure...isn't that what the Pope is?

From what I understand, and I could be wrong- so someone who knows their bible, please back me up or correct me, but I thought the Anti-christ is suppose to hail from a european nation.

I think you're right, but I'll have to check. My memory may be influenced by the "Left Behind" series.

But, that's the thing.

The AntiChrist is who you least think it is. A Pope being an AntiChrist is VERY POSSIBLE, though I'm not buying it, not this time. It would be someone in political office. And, since the U.S. is crashing, it won't be here. Not in America. If all the talk and all the prophecies about 2012 are correct, then it's a good guess the AntiChrist would rise in China. THEY, not us, are the world's market now.

If the prophecies of 2012 are correct, then the end would have already begun. Before the biblical 'Armageddon' there are seven years worth of Tribulation, which is launched by a seven year treaty between the Antichrist and the nation of Israel (broken halfway through), and the appearance of two "witnesses" who are harbingers of that Tribulation.

Among other things.

And before that, Solomon's Temple must be rebuilt on the Temple Mount, and that's currently occupied by the Mosque of Omar, and I don't see the Muslims giving that up any time soon.

And of course, if you buy into the Pretribulation Rapture interpretation, then the sudden disappearance/death of about a billion or so people would be hard to miss.

Regardless of what happens in 2012 - and I wouldn't discount disasterous events and cataclysms - I sincerely doubt it will be the the Apocolypse described in the Christian Bible.

Bingo. I don't think the world will end. But, I wouldn't be one to be ruling out catastrophe. Prophicies that have been dead-on accurate for thousands of years are very hard to brush off as some conspiracy theory.

which ones are you talking about?

BTW, if you are saying the world wont end, then the prophicies are dead wrong.......

Is it possible that in 2012, we don't see the end times. Instead, we just see death and disease in the billions?

Changing weather patterns would no doubt spread disease. The solar storm could make the oceans hotter, and in exact alignment, cause major hurricanes. The poles could reverse, setting off earthquakes and volcanoes.

Anything is possible on 2012. The fact is we, as a human race, have never been around for what is going to happen on that prophesized day, and we haven't a clue what will happen. Right now, the scientists are all in disagreement over everything, they're just calling each other names at this point. But, it's niave to assume we'll come in exact alignment with the sun and the milky way galaxy at the peak of a solar storm and nothing will happen.

2012 - something happens. As big or small as it may be, something happens.

Fundamentalist groups (some, not all) have been called every pope since the reformation the anti-christ. So far, none of the prophecies have been true. If the biblical test for genuine prophets is applied, then all those who claimed this about previous popes would be considered false prophets.

There were crackpots who said Ronald Wilson Reagan was the anti christ because he had 6 letters in all three of his names.:eyebrow:

Revelation has implied that the anti-christ would rise from the region of Europe, become a world leader and introduce a temporary peace upon earth. Many have believed that the region mentioned is Rome and that the papacy is the agent of antichrist. However, the rise of Islam has now inflitrated Europe and plans are to build a large Islamic Mosque in Rome which overshadows the Vatican.

The prophesied modus-operandi of anti-christ is the plan to exterminate the Jews and instill global persecution and beheading of those who have placed their faith in Yeshua (New Testament Jesus).

This sounds more like what a present-day and future fundamental leader of Islam will be involved in rather than a leader of Roman Catholicism. Islam is slowly but steadily influencing European societies and Islamic leaders have already vowed to conquer Rome. And the world remains blinded by politically correct denial.
