Sorta funny that this new baby will have an uncle who is just 6 months older than he is.
.
My brother's daughter has a nephew who is six months older than her. In fact, my brother became a grandfather before he became a father.

Yikes!

I have a niece who is just 11 months younger than I am, so I am well aware of the "weirdness" associated with being the youngest and having a sister who is 17 years older than I am.

As I said, Bob is old enough to be a grandfather, but I am not old enough to be a step grandmother, even though we are the same age.

At promptly 7:00 p.m. tonight (notice the 7/7 at 7:00 theme) after almost 12 hours of labor, baby boy Sean was born to Bob's daughter. The parents are besides themselves, the grandparents are as excited as can be, and the baby is doing extremely well. I'm sure that Bob will provide more details when he finishes up his visit with his first grandchild.

I am so excited for this baby; his parents will soon find out the joy and love that can come from having a beautiful and precious child in their lives. I am so exited for them in this new adventure.

:smack: I am too young to be a grandmother, tyvm. Besides, if and when I'm ready to be referred to as a grandma, it will most certainly be as GoodGrandma.

Why God Made Little Boys

God made the world out of His dreams

Of magic mountains, oceans and streams,

Prairies and plans and wooded land,

Then paused and thought “I need someone to stand

On top of mountains, to conquer the seas,

Explore the plains and climb the trees.

Someone to start out small and to grow,

Sturdy, strong as a tree…” And so,

He created boys, full of spirit and fun,

To explore and conquer, to romp and run.

With dirty faces and banged up chins,

With courageous hearts and boyish grins.

When He had completed the task He’d begun

He surely said “A job well done”.

WOw what a night.. daughter ended up having a c-section (which terrified her) but Sean is PERFECT.. 6 lbs 12 oz, 19.5 inches long and battleships for feet. The most stressful exciting day of his life and all he wanted to do was stretch out and sleep.. nurse kept pissing him off cleaning him, giving him his shots, but every SECOND that she wasn't bothering him (like when she was insing the washcloth) he would go right back to sleep. He was soooo stretched out he looked like he had monkey toes. We left around 9PM so mom could get some sleep, she was wore out.

Through it all her husband did great. He sat by her, and comforted her when she needed it, calmed her when she was terrified, went into the OR with her.. overall he did a great job.

In the end we got yelled at, I think that's normal for me at that hospital, I get yelled at EVERY time I go there. This time they were doing the C-section, and as SOON as we heard a baby cry we had our faces pressed against the OR window. The gas passer came out and yelled at us.. "you're not allowed to be here during surgery, get behind the red line.." of course he didn't tell us that until AFTER we saw Sean. Hey, you don't want us to watch, don't put in windows!!

We left with Sean sleeping in his mommy's arms.
