You can thank the media and the DNC for that. You just say Trumps name in front of them and the gasps and eye rolls.

THIS is why - when someone on social media goes on a rant about how Trump incited a crowd to enter the Capitol - in spite of his CLEAR WORDS to be peaceful - I counter with the attempts on Trump's LIFE were CLEARLY INSPIRED by the ENDLESS litany of diatribes calling him a threat to freedom and an "existential threat to our democracy" (to which I always murmur under my breath "REPUBLIC, you ass").You can thank the media and the DNC for that.

I did have a friend - a person with whom I interacted with for years - and whom I had zero idea of his political leanings -But think how retarded and easily manipulated you have to be that you react to Trump's mere name like Pavlov's rabid dog because the TV or some stranger on the internet said to.
Biden was a horrible POTUS and most of us could say his name without spitting. We didn't burn down buildings in rage-fueled fits. We could watch Kamala being a dork without throwing chairs across the room.
So really, if someone's "sensible and reasonable" friend has that type of visceral reaction, they are indeed a crazy Leftist moron.

My D friend in Texas went nutzo about J6, told her I saw far worse at the Capitol back in the Vietnam protest era. She said J6 was worseI did have a friend - a person with whom I interacted with for years - and whom I had zero idea of his political leanings -
Go off on me when I mentioned that Trump had nothing to do with the actions at the Capitol on J6 and the "damage" done on that day was trivial. He went off loudly and his wife - who actually partly agrees with him - had to calm him down. He's never been the same with me since. Cordial, but that's about the extent of it.

Never notice how quickly “threat to democracy” turns out to be “threat to them getting their way?”My D friend in Texas went nutzo about J6, told her I saw far worse at the Capitol back in the Vietnam protest era. She said J6 was worseTold her I lived that era and was there to no avail. Most times I can reason with her but she is adamant that J6 was a threat to democracy.

And I am sorry, but even THEN I thought, "threat to democracy my ass". Every person in that building was evacuated WAY beforehand not one of them was harmed. People like AOC reported how terrified she was - across the street, in the DNC building, where protesters NEVER CAME CLOSE to the door.My D friend in Texas went nutzo about J6, told her I saw far worse at the Capitol back in the Vietnam protest era. I missed hearing that.Except for a few broken windows and somebody taking a dump on Nancy's desk (Did that happen or am I imagining it?) it was a mostly peaceful insurrection.
I believe there was a statue made.I missed hearing that.
If there’s a picture out there, let Trump know.
That way he can commission a painting to hang in the rotunda.
Time shifted the show on my phones Sirius app and literally just heard that as I read it just now..Anyone catch the Trump presser during The Five, my all time favorite quote - "The Houthis are dying for peace".
