I encourage you to come back and try us again. The first weekend was very busy and we had a LOT of new people working who were still learning the process. Most of the kinks have been worked out now and the donuts are more delicious than ever.

If you have never had a "made-to-order" donut it may be a strange concept not to see racks of donuts, but once you have a hot Fractured Prune donut, you'll see why we love them and so do SO many others.

All of our donuts are yellow cake donuts, dipped in whatever glaze you want and then you can even add a topping or two. The visitors are correct - no yeast raised donuts, everyone has their own gig and ours is "HOT hand-dipped yellow-cake donuts, Always, you create 'em, we make 'em".
Although we are known for the yummy donuts, we also have bagels and Seattles Best Coffee, an extension and product of Starbucks.

The atmosphere is intended to be family friendly and the staff we have right now is fabulous. The hours were extended and are currently Monday through Friday, 5 a.m. to 6 p.m., Saturday and Sunday, 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.

My husband is who runs the store right now and says on an average morning, he can get your order done in less than 2.5 minutes.

NOTE: We are still waiting for the credit card/debit machines...MUCH apologies. We are of the "not-carrying-cash" generation so we know how frustrating "cash only" can be, but I PROMISE we're working on it!

I hope you all will come and visit soon! :howdy:

You get a free donut with coffee anyway (unless I heard wrong or that was a limited time offer or something) or if ya mention that you are a first time customer, like I did and ya get a free one of your choice!

I tried it recently. Hubby was not pleased that no fillings were available (plus doesn't like cake donuts), and I thought the donuts were small and overpriced, though tasty. A matter of taste, all and all. If you like cake donuts, it's a fun place to take your kids. My son loved the Reese's kind. There have been some nice additions to the neighborhood lately, and I would count this one among them.

Note to the owner: some more seating would have been nice, considering how long we had to stand in line, then wait for the food to be made.

We too would love to have more seating available. However, health codes prevent us from having more than what we already have. Your wait should not have been more than a few minutes so if that isn't the case, please ask to speak to the owner so my husband or I can explain if there is an exceptional situation.

Please apologize to your husband for us about the non-filled donuts. I understand. It's like any specialty shop, if it's not what you want, then no matter how good it is, you aren't going to LOVE it. The Fractured Prune has specialized in hot, hand-dipped cake donuts for decades so for now we're sticking with what we do well :)

Thank you for the compliment on the nice addition to the neighborhood. That was one of our reasons for opening the shop - to have a family friendly environment. We're expecting our first baby in July so it's become increasingly important to us to have such a place.

Thanks for coming by and I would love to hear any other feedback via this forum, phone call or mail.

I believe that they will do good here... Just wait until the Pax business park opens.. They will have tons more in for the morning rush....... Also the colors of the store can wake up a person without the coffee. LOL Here is a suggestion White Chocolate chips...... You a a patron that loves your doughnuts but can not have any of the ones with the Chocolat chips due to the fact that he is allergic to them.....I hope you do well here this area need business like yours......

I can tell that you are all about customer service. Even though I don't care for "cake" doughnuts, I'm going to stop in on my next trip down, and get one or two, or a dozen.

The Fractured Prune is a legend here in OC, similar to that of Thrasher's and Dolle's.

Maybe some benches or small tables outside? That would be nice in the spring, if they'd let you do that.

I agree about the customer service. Everyone was very kind and helpful, smiles all around. We have enough dour faces around here in fooderies to turn your stomach, so this was a nice change.

I came in one day and had the girls there cut 2 dozen into 4's. The reason for this is that I wanted to share them with the other teachers in school. But I wanted to taste them as well... Now I have the teachers hooked on the doughnuts.....

I went with the kids and we liked it a lot. We like cake doughnuts and the toppings were yummy. They even colored in pictures of the Prune (though daughter thought it was a chicken nugget) and hung them on the wall. Worth a trip to try it if you have kids, just bring wet wipes.
