How I was able to escape reading both LOTR and The Hobbit (more than 1 book?) in HS, I don't know. Maybe because I skipped my senior year and graduated ahead of my class since I had all the credits I needed, I don't know. (I MAY have read 1 of the LOTR books in HS, I just can't remember.)

Anyhoo, I am probably the only person on earth, but I simply have no interest in seeing the movie, as I am just not a fan of this genre. I am 'Murican and I am very proud of it. :diva: Luckily, my beloved didn't insist on dragging me to see it with him, he went with his sister & niece. Thankya Geezus. :biggrin:

However, I am ecstatic that those of you who do love this sort of movie had a good time & loved it! :buddies:

And this has WHAT to do about the movie? :confused: Or were you referring to someone possibly coming in and calling you Al Qaeda if you didn't see the flick and absolutely love it? :lol:

OMG, I don't understand how you can be a 'Murican and not know anything about LOTR or the Hobbit. I swear my mom must be a hobbit and doesn't know it.

So other than explaining everything after the movie (luckily the boy was next to her), it was a great movie!

My wife has never watched LOTR or read the Hobbit. I drug her to the movie with me and she enjoyed it.

My first exposure to the Hobbit and LOTR was in college. They guys in my dorm had painted a whole wall depicting the story in map form. It was so awesome I had to read them all.
