Oh my gosh, I remember in my early 20's when I would eat a meal with a man I was newly seeing I would be so nervous that I shook and trembled and couldn't hold my utensils and dared not lift a glass to drink from it. It was so sad. 
Later I learned that I was just as afraid to eat around a group of strangers in a banquet type setting and my hands would shake so noticeably and I just couldn't relax because I always felt watched.
I think I got over that problem 3-5yrs ago. But, I still am not comfortable with fixing a man's plate. I just feel like it's such a big deal like I am being tested and there are only two ways to do it which are right or wrong.
I have even flat out refused to make a ex-beaus plate once to the point there was almost an argument. I ended up making it but not too happy about being put in the spotlight. Come to find out he didn't care much about the prepping of his plate anyway, he was just hungry.
