If you told them it was shut off, how would they have known??Booboo3604 said:I can kind of relate to your pain. When I moved into my house (keep in mind two years ago) I tried to get Direct TV hooked up. They said I had to have the comcast that was currently running to the house shut off first. I was ok with this because I wanted the comcast shut off anyways as it was in the previous owners name and I didnt want her coming after me later for using her cable. Well I went to the comcast office on several occasions to be told as long as the previous owners had a remaining balanbce on their account, they wouldnt shut it off. And it wasnt deliquent enough to be shut off by them. Yes I was receiving free cable but we ended up having to battle with the preivous owners to get the account taken care of as it definitely wasnt at the top of their priority list. I just didnt understand why as the new owner of the home I could have the Comcast shut off coming to my house, it was ridiculous.
MAYBE when they got out there, but guess what, the technician wouldn'thave cared. They'd just do the install so they could get paid, and be on their way.
