The worst case of judicial activism...

Obama destroyed America
That's a pretty insulting statement. You seem to like having the government dictate the choices of private citizens. Are you going to like it just as well when they come after you?
You should expect no less from a flaming coward who's keyboard protects her from the real world.

There is no difference in a judge deciding for a foster then a parent for thier child. My problem is that the judge based her decision on her personal beliefs about the war not on the capacity of this kid to make a decision for himself. If she said no because he was horribly immature or she believed he hadn't given the decision enough thought, I would have no problems.

I agree. Due to her personal prejudice she also lost him the ten grand which I'm sure he could have used.

Are they getting ready to suspend the use of enlistment bonuses? Waiting a couple of months might have no impact on any bonus available as it seems to be an MOS bonus and not a shipping bonus.

You're leading falsely,

Have you seen FMJ? Exactly what part should motivate anyone to join the marines? As I recall that movie portrayed the Marines, and the vietnam war in a very harsh light.

Private Joker: I wanted to be the first kid on the block to get a confirmed kill.

Private Joker: How can you shoot women and children?
Marine gunner: easy, just don't lead them as much.

While I disagree with this judges decision, she is in charge of his future because either his parents abandoned him, mis-treated him, or perhaps died. Either way, something happened where this young man became a ward of the court, therefore, leaving decisions as to his future up to the court. It would be the same thing if a parent was against the war and choose not to sign for their child.

The only reason I can see for denying this is, if the judge feels the teen is emotionally ready, denying his request because the Judge dose not believe in the war is Judicial Activism @ its worst ........ but I really do not expect anything else from the Socialists on the Bench

:blahblah::blahblah::blahblah::blahblah:

I am smarter because I make decisions with my bleeding heart, you do not know what you want there fore I must spoon feed it to you ........

I disagree with the judges decision, and believe she made it for the wrong reasons, but I guess my thought is, if the judge were the young man's mother, father, grandmother or some other relative "legal guardian" would we be as quick to critisize?

WDF. So worth the wait.

I would but, I'm kinda a biatch. To me it is the same as a parent saying, "we will pay for college IF you study what we want you to." Bad parenting. Parents might be against the war but, if their child is emotionally perpared and made a thoughtful decision I think they should respect the decision.

But can you point to any scene in that movie that would inspire someone to want to join the marines, aside from $10 poontang they get?.

And what emotionally prepared child watches Full Metal Jacket and decides that the Marine Corp is the place to be?

Did I miss something? Was FMJ the first reality tv show I didn't know? All this time I thought those people on the big screen were pretending. Fooled all along!

All.

ALL emotionally prepared children should watch FMJ and jones to join the USMC. If your kid watches and doesn't want to join, then you have failed as a parent and I feel sorry for your children.

My 7 year old irons my clothes while singing the Marine Corp Hymn. It is the sweetest thing but, next week when I get her her high and tight she is really gonna be the cutest.
