This craziness happened just hours before I arrived in the city. The news reports are non-stop showing the attack and arrest videos. The mobs wanted to rip the attacker to pieces. It was crazy.

That is a rarity there, usually Taiwan, even Taipei is quite peaceful and safe. Looks like a nut job. I love that country, I get to go a lot. Damn shame.

Some decades back, my old man was involved in building a couple of semiconductor plants in Hsinchu. He enjoyed the mountains and working with his Taiwanese counterparts. He didn't enjoy the isolation, the world was quite a bit bigger before the internet.
