There are some days...

.... you'd like to just walk out. Close the door and be done with it. But then that little voice in the back of your head reminds you about the mortgage...

There are some people that just should not have a computer. My admin has been using a computer for daily office stuff for 10 years. MS-DOS to 95 to 98 to Win2K and XP. All versions of Word and Excel. Yet when I helped her today and typed control-C to copy some text, and control-V to paste in another document, she jumped up and down and asked what did I do, how did I do that, she only uses Edit/Copy....... I just stared at her....

Yeah, I know it's just a little thing, but this has been going on for years. I teach her, and it goes in one ear and right out the other.

Ok, I'm done here. Back to...... whatever it is I do here...

Well my mother still believes I am an absolute genius just because I can turn ON a computer, much less actually DO anything on it! :killingme I love my mom! :flowers:

I had one of those days today and a co-worker got to see what I've been dealing with.

I'm thinking a nice Chardonnay, after I clean my place :lmao:

I once asked a receptionist to enter some business cards into a contacts file so we could eliminate all these business cards I had laying around and she called up to my office and asked what a facsimile # was. :twitch: After explaining it to her she took a few minutes to get it.

I can sooooooo relate to all of these stories. With the exception of my brother in law I am the only computer literate person in my family. And with a lot of my friends. There are times when I would like to reach through the phone, screen or even just beside me (depending on where they are whilst I am helping them) and choke the living shi+ out of them! But it does do my ego well when I can absolutely blow their minds! :lmao:

Have you ever noticed that the first time you help someone - you are locked in for the rest of your life!

Have you ever noticed that your friends don't have time to learn a application but have time for you to recover files, etc. that they wouldn't have lost if they just took the time to learn the application?

Have you ever noticed that your friends ask you for your advice on a software package but if you don't agree with their solution - they want to argue with you?

Have you ever noticed that your friends ask you for your advice, ignore it, buy their solution and then when they have problem ask you to help them out?

Have you ever noticed that people running AOL always end up having computer problems but won't give it up because they are tooo use to AOL?

Have you ever noticed - enough!:wench::nono::crazy::shutup::bonk::whack::burning::deadhorse:smack:

I have had people amazed at the same concept (Ctrl+C, Ctrl+V, Ctrl+P)

I was talking to my sister on the phone one night trying to walk her through something and she got pizzed at me because "I was talking too technical" when I asked her to go to her desktop. :roflmao:
