Third world grocery stores

There is a lot to unpack in this statement. First - why were you in JoAnn Fabrics? On a Tuesday? Looking for “jars”?
I was being held hostage by the Patina Lady. She picked me up at Cheseldines. I was forced to go with her on a couple errands before dropping her off at the Mill so I could take the car back to work. She bought me lunch at Chick-fil-A.

No canning jars were purchased at Joann Fabric.

When you read Third World grocery stores, did anyone else immediately think of shoppers food warehouse?

Still have no need to buy toilet paper nor paper towels, but have noticed well stocked displays for both in Giant.

The only thing I have trouble finding in stock now is frozen peas. :sshrug:
Name brand TP or John Wayne TP well stocked in Giant? Their is plenty of "Daisy" brand TP at Food Lion. And you can find some Charmin TP at McKays if you are willing to pay $10.99 a 4-pk.

Mommy Dearest is, but every now and then when I stop at Dollar General, they will have 1 pack of either her Charmin, or Bounty Colossal Roll select-a-size towels which she also refuses to do without.

It was Charmin and was there when I went in after work Monday night. I didn't pay attention to the price but they were large packages.

I was only a phone call away...iffen you needed rescuing.

So that begs the question why they can get it but Food Lion can't. Angel soft is only name brand they seem to get regularly.

I guess now is not the time to tell you how many times I have gotten chick-fil-a for my employees.

That pertickler employee has become a real morale problem. Not one of the people he manages have anything good to say about him. Not one..

And he's always runnin' down his immediate superwiser too.

No clue. I still have a dozen or so rolls of Charmin from my mega buy from BJ's in February. :yay:

It has come to my attention that you all still have empty grocery stores shelves - is that true? Having a hard time finding toilet paper, etc?

I'm curious why that would be. We had empty shelves in New Braunfels in mid March for a few weeks, and since then we've been in numerous states with everything being normal. Plenty of TP, plenty of meat, dry pasta, cleaning supplies, etc.

Are you all still having shortages?
Yes. Lysol wipes, and ANY TYPE of antibacterial wipes. Most disinfectants. The shelves are bare!

Can goods down here are slow to come, usually kind I like. Also, medicines like Tylenol Extra Strength..I usually buy the biggest bottle.. finally they have some small bottles on the shelf. It can be different things that were once plentiful...now not.
