I never said the guy WAS taking bribes - I only used that as an example of something besides the racism scenario *you* assumed to be the case.

Look at that, he assumed the mayor was taking bribes, or assumed that's what you said. He assumes too much!

Well...if we are just pulling examples out of nowhere. Aliens could have done it. Maybe it was drunk circus dwarves. No, no I got it. It was Professor Plum or even Santa Claus.

Point is I based my assumption on things I read in the story.
1. Black Mayor in majority white town in the South (LA)
2. Was harrassed and cursed at before
3. For Sale sign posted in his yard. (meaning we dont want you here)
4. Black mayor recently died 150 miles away under suspicious circumstances

No, but fed up citizens who aren't pleased with bribes or kickbacks taken by this mayor might. That's what I got from that part of the story - that the mayor is "for sale", not that they were trying to sell his house out from underneath him.

I mean, it *is* Louisiana, after all.

Boy, I feel special. This interesting, assumed story, , comes from the area I grew up in. So did the story about the pitbull eating the babies toes. So did the one about the bus driver making the black kids ride in the back of the bus. And lets not forget Robert Charles Browne, the serial killer, who's nephews I grew up playing with.

I can't figure why the article mentioned that unless, and this is a stretch I'm sure, they were trying to sensationalize it by making it seem like this is a regular thing down there. They want us to infer things they don't or can't say. "My God Maude do you think this is the Klan starting up again?"

So he was black - instantly it's a white person responisible? Instantly, it's racial.
