Tide Pods...

I swear… no matter what detergent I use, I always end up returning to Tide or Gain because frankly, these do a better job. Earlier this week, I was shopping and came across Tide Pods – 77 of them for $18.99 (or 24-25 cents a load @ Giant). They are HE & standard washer friendly and easy to use… just toss them in with your clothes and they appear to do a pretty good job. These pods are already pre-measured with detergent, stain something another and something to brighten. What I really like about them is they are easy to use... even teenagers can handle this... and take up less space.

I am sure Wal Mart has them for less so if anyone knows how much for 77 - please post.

I am so very blessed
Did they work well? Like you,I use tide or gain but I hate how liquid detergent funks up the dispense reservoir.

I use Tide HE also. Normally, I'd be complaining about the tray gunk too, but had the HE front-loader for about a year, and it rinses out the detergent with such force that there is no residue after all this time.

Might look into the pellets, tho, see if it's any cheaper.

It looks like Giant is asking a fair price for them. I have to be in the mind set to go to Wal Mart and for a bigger savings than a few cents. :cds:

Thanks Belvak

Loving,

I am the only one who like fabric softner in my house - typically it is a must use on my sheets. I love the fresh smell but tend to use Bounce dryer sheets more often than fabic softner.

not impressed
We switched to Charlie's Soap Powder a few months back and couldn't be happier. Also easier on the bearings in the washer.

It isn't much better. I will end up boxing this all up and taking to either the Women's shelter or the food bank which I've done before with other detergent.

I bought the Shurfine liquid last month because I was washing a bunch of clothes that I was donating (they smelled like my garage). I liked the way that the laundry smelled when I was done and decided to wash a load of our clothes with it. It worked great. It even got rid of my kid's grass stains. :yay:

Thanx for the suggestion. I have 2 bottles of Tide non-HE that I can't use anymore and want to get rid of.

I had to stop using the packs in my dishwasher because the melted plastic peices where clogging things up..I wonder if it causes problems with the washer as well? I started using powder awhile ago, and I like it much better. I don't feel like I am paying for water, and I think it does a better job of cleaning with less.

Tide makes me itch. I get the All Free and Clear - reasonably priced, HE safe, septic system safe, never leaves residue, cleans well and doesn't have a bunch of chemicals to mask the actual smell of the clothes. If you want a scent in your clothing I recommend a fabric softner.

Nothing to see here
I prefer Cheer over Tide. I use the HE version but can never find a big jug of it like the regular Cheer none HE.

The worst thing is when someone uses softner for our towels. It makes them lose their absorbancy. It is horrible.

So we've been using those Pod things for a few days now and they are just ok. I dont think I would buy them.

I haven't used cheer in a long time; in fact, I don't think it is a product you commonly see at all the stores. These pods keep my boys from using too much detergent. They are getting their tough stains out and they like the smell. My dad picked me up a tub of them at BJ’s for under $20.00 or 22 -23 cents a load - 90 or 91 pods. Not bad....

Last year, I was washing clothes like you would NOT believe and this went on for months (sick relative).... so I was clipping coupons and buying whatever detergent I could get at a reasonable price. I felt bad because constant washing left many items dull. These Tide pods have brought back the color and brightness which has kept me from pitching them in the garbage.

libertytyranny,

I filled a pot with warm water and dropped a pod in it - used a spoon to stir and strained it... could not find the casing so I am guessing these dissolve. I did this not because of what you said but because it was a concern of my husband's. After picking up several of the pods, the last thing I need is more detergent I don't use.

Yeah - I have heard the boys complain about softner on towels. I can only use softner on sheets - nobody else (well besides me) cares for it on anything other than sheets.
