I think there is more to come out that we haven't even heard yet. i wouldn't be surprised if there's a sex tape out there after the legal motion he just filed in England.

Honestly, from the moment I saw the news about the vehicle accident he was involved with, there in Fla., I didn't give it that much attention. However, the breaking news clips, the revelations coming out, concerning his personal life is devastating.

Watching this guy, for over 10 years or so, having the respect anyone would think of him - you've got to wonder - what the hell have you been up to, Tiger?

More than that: Why??

Woody had a indefinite leave of absence of the brain fooling around on a stunning looking woman as his wife. What a idiot. Hopefully she is smart enough to take him to the cleaners.

If the situation was reversed I bet he would have pulled an OJ and knocked her off.

Hmmmm......ESPN, CNN and The Golf Channel(DirecTV) are all estimating Tiger Woods will not be playing in any professional tournements - anywheres from 2 months, 6 months, maybe even a year!

There has got to be some heavy soul searching going on in that man's mind.....

One would have to admit, that in any major golfing event, be it the Masters, the US Open, you name it - if he's playing in it, Tiger Woods IS the player most people are keeping an eye on. To think he'll be absent for "an indefinite period of time" is mind boggling.

Think about it.

My guess is he'll be back in time for the Masters in April. If so, he'll probably be in 1 or 2 warmup tourneys just before it. Let's hope so anyway.

Having Fun!
Since he first appeared on the scene, the expectations have gotten higher and higher, along with the fame. He built up the perfect image of golfer, man, husband, father and kept it up for quite a while. Humans are not perfect. He made mistakes. The public might have forgiven one. Multiple is not so good. Now that this has come out, it is all coming apart.

I think it's great that he's taking a break. Maybe he can get his personal life straight if his primary focus is on that and he's out of the national/world spotlight (can you tell I'm an optimist at heart?).

As far as golf goes, perhaps now there's a chance that someone else can shine a little bit, since there's now an opening around for "rising golf star".

Great commentary! :buddies:

At this point, and in the future, that is what Tiger is going to need. Optimism.

However, there is going to be a media circus, the 1st time he hits the links, whether it's for practice or, his next pro event. That one won't be easy for him, not by any means. I'm not sure I want to watch that one.......

I heard that he is off to legally change his name from Tiger to Cheetah...

I also heard that wifey poo has given him the ultimatum of golf or his family.

Why? Why do lots of celebs or athletes cheat on their spouse? More than likely he could get something from those women that his wife wouldn't give him. Those women probably were willing to do anything he wanted, no matter what (he's worth a Billion bucks BTW), while his wife probably wouldn't.

I'm thinking they do it because they can. :ohwell:

I'm having a hard time believing that he could be doing SO much of this and it was never caught by a paparazzi?

Another good point.

As famous as Tiger Woods is - or was - you'd have thought the paparazzi would have caught some of those escapades on film. He doesn't just blend into the woods(sorry for the pun!) He's a stickout, wherever he travels.

I hadn't thought of THAT one. Good call. :howdy:

Another issue is the sponsorships...what he did was oh-so-wrong (coming from someone who had a marriage end for the very same reasons), but it is not a legal issue (criminal) like drugs or violence. This doesn't change his ability to strike the ball:popcorn:.

In the http://forums.somd.com/sports/195677-tiger-19-a.html thread Larry had me convinced Tiger is some sort of upstanding guy. It was the media (how strange) that exploited Tiger's misdeeds on the course. I argued about Tiger's temper and lack of discipine. But he had me convinced that, for the most part, Tiger was an honorable man and the media's excessive focus on him was the reason we saw so much of his missteps.

Not anymore. The man is a slug of the lowest form. He had everything set up perfectly in his life: the greatest golfer ever, all the money anyone could ever need, the perfect family (so we thought). He was built up as the epic sportsman and had the perfect personal life. This wasn't enough for him. He is just like the rest of those young arrogant, me, me, me people. He was propped up to be larger than life and it apparently went to his head. He, just like so many other "vicitms" in this sports/entertainment world, live in their own little bubble; where they think that above it all and can't be touched.

Then reality comes crashing down. He is everything I thought he was. A sad example of a sportsman, family man, and human being. He has no honor.
