Why do 24 hr 7-11's have locks on the doors?

In case there's a burglary or if they need to close for an hour, there are locks on the doors.

Also, all ATM's have braille on the keypad -- this is because the machines are manufactured by the same company and wouldn't it be easier to just put out 1 kind of machine?

Good time not to be anywhere's near Solomons.
Yep, I agree. I heard the cops mark your tires and just wait like vultures for people to leave and if you've had anything to drink you're screwed. Better to take a taxi or the shuttle...A DUI is not worth any boob shot. :otter:

Tire Marking is "supposedly" marking the tires with a nightglow paint/marker so that when you leave a certain establishment you're easy to identify. Thus they could mark all the tires in the Tiki parking lot and be able to identify you a mile or two down the road. I've heard of this but personally think it's myth.

I've been to places (Ocean City) where "security" officers chalk your front tire. Usually they'll come through about every hour and do so.

I'll be there (*bump*)

I just wonder how many sobriety checkpoints will be around. I've seen more troopers on patrol in calvert this year than I have in quite a few years.

Don't know if they do it here, but when I lived in KY, they did it at the bars in Louisville, actually marking the trunks of the cars at ceratin bars. A "caught" DUI'r took them to court, and the court said it was illegal, and a violation of some right or another.

yeah, the tire marking thing is wrong on many different levels. I can't see that holding up in court.

They don't need to do that, when they can simply hold a sobriety checkpoint. Most folks only know there's one way in, and one way out, of the Tiki.

They do this to prevent you from staying too long in a parking slot that doesn't have a parking meter. If it says two hour parking and they catch you parking longer than that, they can ticket your car. Doesn't usually happen if you're feeding the parking meter, though.

The only tire marking I've ever heard of is for use in limited time parking areas. Like "1 Hour Parking" They come by once an hour and if they see the chalk marks from their last visit, you get a ticket.
Why would the cops care where you've been when you hit a sobrity check point? You either pass or fail, where you were is unimportant.

in Southern Maryland I think tire marking refers to the drunks not being able to wait in line and pissing on the closest whitewall they can find
