Tubes?? Haven't done a tire change yet, but 95% sure there is no tube... but what would you consider a good offer on the spoons and rim savers?? I have no idea how much they should be. $5.23 a good offer?? A box of Samoas??

If you have spoked rims, I doubt that you have tubless tires. I guess it's possible though.

if you are going to do the tire yourself, check with BMW to find out what to lube the axle bolt with. Some bikes use a high heat axle grease, and some actually recommend anti-sieze, no grease.

I got all of my tire changing stuff from JP cycles. It's pretty cheap...just worthless to me after I attempted a tire changing with them. 20 minutes is my limit to frustration anymore. Any longer than that, and I'm not makin' any money on it. Time to pay the pros.

That answers that question, no spokes, metal one piece rims. Harbor Freight sells a tire changing stand, complete with bead breaker.. Tire changer $49, and the Motorcycle adaptor is another $40. Wheel balancer for the back wheel, and car and truck tires is $20.. the front wheel, I'll probably take to one of the local shops to get balanced.

Where's JP Cycles?

balancing motorcycle wheels are cake. put the axle through it, put each end of the axle on a chair, or anything that will keep the wheel elevated. LIGHTLY spin the wheel, just enough to create motion. The heaviest area will settle to the bottom. The faster it moves to the bottom, the more weight you need to add to the top. It takes some practice, but it really is easy. You're done when no one area really settles. Just remember to put the valve cap on prior to balancing, especially if it's a chrome one. the weights are adhesive so it's easy to adjust.

I have re-wired (new spokes) on my own wheels using this same basic method for truing spoked wheels and have trued friends wheels several times too. Piece of cake.

How is the service at Motivation? My Yamaha is 25 years old and some folks don't seem to want to mess with those. I'd like to take it in just for a general once over. I have about 30,000 miles on it and would like to get it looked at

Had mine put on at Evolution Cycles in Valley Lee, very nice guy and did them while I waited, I took him the wheels, think he was 20 each might have been 10. It was by far the cheapest.

As for SWMOTO, they kickazz, buy two and get free shipping, saved me I think 180 for my pair

I will be looking them up in the future.. SMCITY still came out to $43 in the end, and no sign of any weights on the wheel. Now I have to be brave enough to take it out for the first ride after having the front end in pieces on the garage floor

Very good. Took them a couple of hours to install my CB radio on Friday. I did notice a sign in the shop saying there was a higher labor rate charge for bikes over 10 years old, but a lot of shops won't even look at one.

I just picked up a set of Dunlop D209's from kneedraggers.com. They had the best price I could find.
