Tivo

I have heard the Direct TV DVR is more complicated than TIVO and I am definitely challenged in electronics area.

Not that it is more difficult, but with the DVR you cant switch between live channels and other little things.

Also make sure you dont get a Tivo w/ minimal storage. My cousins has like 60 or 80 hours which sounds like a lot but if you are taping hour long shows, movies, etc.... it fills up quick I think I have the 300 hour one but I am not 100% positive

So Tive website has them from $99 to $599. I think the $99 is all I need (80) hours

Would THIS face lie?
The smaller one is enough for me because usually after I watch a show I have Tivoed I erase it to clear up more space....80 hours is a lot of TV for me...

But during football season when you are set to tape two or three games at 4 hours a piece, plus movies, and UFC fights I have saved.... 80 is just not enough it will make you delete something before you can tape anything and if you have stuff set to record on your favorites (like desperate housewives, idol, lost etc...) it will just not record them because you are at your limit. I have about 40 hours of saved cooking shows that will never be deleted

Buy a recordable dvd player and get them off your Tivo. That is what I plan to do when I get around to figuring out how to set my recorder up in the mix I currently have.

See, that's why I don't own music CD's. I will watch and delete.
