I live near Spring Ridge Middle...just a tiny bike 'cause I'm only 5' and gotta be able to touch the ground, but I'm looking forward to learning.

My son took me out today, he said I did well other than on curves, need some more practice. I'm ready to ride any time! :starcat:

Close by, if you want a riding partner let me know.. Doing services on mine right now, but should be done sometime tomorrow.

Nice place to ride to on the 24th, little traffic and it;s only about 5 miles from where you are.

I started on a mini-bike when I was 6 - first gear shifting bike when I was 10, raced from 12 - 32 y/o... woke up one morning and lost vision in my left eye, it eventually came back at about 50% but I had a depth of perception problem... I sold the bike after a year into recovery.

Now, I have compensated and am almost normal - I will get another one, one of these days.

I had never ridden a bike until I was 47. Something I always wanted to do. Desertrat bought me the Rebel on my 47th birthday and he had to ride it home from Valley Lee to California. He's not a small guy and that was just funny watching him ride it home. I practiced a little on it (can you say RETARD), took the course, rode if for a bit. Then he took me to look at a 650 V-Star for sale. It was a forum member and she has remained silent about my accident on it to this day. Took it down her driveway, turned around, killed it and fell over. :roflmao: She came racing down on the driveway, picked me up on a 4-wheeler. Desertrat ended up dropping me at Breton Medical on the way home, ankle was totally effed up, ended up in a "boot" for 6 weeks and while in the "boot" he bought me the 650..........I was terrified to get on it. Oh, the stories I could tell....acorns, fell over at the end of our road. I'm better now.

Oh, and if you haven't done it yet, take the MSF beginners rider course.

Scanner just reported 3 bikes headed towards the bypass at a high rate of speed and the cop said they weren't going to be able to catch up to them. Idiots.

I've looked into the courses from CSM, they get full soooooooo fast, is there somewhere else to take this course?

I think Harley Davidson in Hughesville is offering them now. Also, some of the other colleges, if you don't mind travelling for the course (Anne Arundel comes to mind???).

Thanks for the info, everyone! :flowers: I'm headed out to the garden now, got to get the tomatoes in the ground before it starts to rain AGAIN, but I'll call around this afternoon and this coming week.

I'm not really cursing the rain, I love the rain, just hope we're still getting some come July!

Show up the morning of the class anyways. They always have no shows (especially if the weather isn't perfect) and they'll fill those spots with stand-bys, first come first served.

Yeah, the wind was interesting yesterday. Went out later for a trip down around Leonardtown and it was really nice. Then it rains again today

:howdy:To the girl who waved at me Friday afternoon by the McD's in Leonardtown. Next time worry about the traffic and stop light, and wave to me some other time.
